The sun is trying to peak through the gray clouds right now. These veggies can also add some sunshine to your life. This recipe is an oldie, but a goodie. Angela Liddon, of Oh She Glows!, doesn't disappoint.

How is your thyroid?
Thyroid disorders are increasing like I've never seen before. My thyroid problems popped up once I started having kids. Helping get to the root cause of your thyroid problems is one of my specialties. Here's a list, from Dr. Amy Myers, of symptoms for you to watch out for:
10 Signs of an Underactive Thyroid:
1. Fatigue after sleeping 8 to 10 hours a night or needing to take a nap daily
2. Weight gain or the inability to lose weight
3. Mood issues such as mood swings, anxiety, or depression
4. Hormone imbalances such as PMS, irregular periods, infertility, and low sex drive
5. Muscle pain, joint pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, or tendonitis
6. Cold hands and feet, feeling cold when others are not, or having a body temperature consistently below 98.5
7. Dry or cracking skin, brittle nails and excessive hair loss
8. Constipation.
9. Mind issues such as brain fog, poor concentration, or poor memory
10. Neck swelling, snoring, or hoarse voice

I'm pretty sure that I'm not the only one with body image issues. Over the past year I've been working harder on being kind to the body that takes me places, lets met feel things, and is with me through thick and thin. I found this article today that has some interesting points about body image and our society. Be kind to yourself and your body will naturally become healthier. You just need to show your body that you are listening.

Like Dr. Sult, chronic illness was also one of my reasons for finding and studying Functional Medicine. Dr. Sult shares some of his experiences in this great article.

I have known and worked with Erin Yaseen of Simplicity Nutrition for several years now. Erin is one of the most intelligent and compassionate nutritionists I've ever worked with. She helps you heal your body with food and is there for you every step of the way. I consider her nutrition services a key part of a successful functional medicine approach to health.
