From the atmosphere and customer service to the quality of the food, Skaf's Lebanese Cuisine was a superb experience for me. I dined here a few nights ago for the first time and was really impressed with the customer service. A man, who seemed to be the manager, genuinely wanted to know my friend and I liked our specialty drinks. I ordered the rose water beverage and my friend got the blueberry juice beverage. I thought both were too watered down but still tasty. I let him know and he took it with a smile and told us his favorite, which was the blueberry one. We shared the SPICY POTATOES ($7) appetizer, which was great. The manager gave us a free side of GARLIC SPREAD (normally $5) to go along with the potatoes. It was such a perfect (and generous) combination. I ordered the LAMB KEBOB ($16) entree - medium rare - and came with rice (or fries), their famous cabbage salad, hummus & pita bread. Oh, it was delicious. Everything was great. My friend ordered the COMBO PLATE ($19) because she wanted to try a little bit of everything. Her dish was delicious as well. I will definitely come back again. Loved everything and cannot wait to try other dishes. They have a small parking lot available for you or there's always street parking.

I had a wonderful experience at Echo Park's Mohawk Alley Animal Hospital. From the outside, you cannot tell but the facility seems to be state-of-the-art and is extremely clean and spacious. Located right next to the K9 Loft grooming services, parking is ample with metered/street. Dr. Susan Tang was wonderful to my 6-yr-old Yorkshire Terrier, who was suffering from flea allergy and hot spots. Not only was she quick to point out his problems, she was helpful in explaining the steps needed to move forward with the healing process. Very quick and to the point. She was thorough in examination and even found additional problems we were unaware of (ear infection, etc.). She sent me home with four medications and already had applied two of them during examination. Directions were easy. Not only was the experience amazing, the prices were as well. Examination was roughly $49 (rounded up) and with four medications, total came out to be around $163. I heard about crazy vet bills but this was definitely something I could swallow. They called me a few days after to check up on my dog to see how he was doing and asked if I had any questions for Dr. Tang. AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE! I will FOR SURE be returning to Dr. Susan Tang and am happy to have Toby (my Yorkshire) see her as the primary (new) vet.

Eagle Rock Yacht Club hosts their Wednesday dodgeball league here in the evening times (9-10:30pm). What more can I say? Awesome sport, awesome people. Annnnd, they have their own parking lot. Otherwise, there is street parking but that may be hard to come by sometimes depending on when you arrive.

Typical Ralphs market. However, do NOT rent out their carpet steam cleaner RUG DOCTOR. It's horrible! After it turns on, it'll stay on for a few minutes but then it heats up and shuts down. You'll have to wait a few minutes before it turns back on again. It's a very tedious process and will waste your time. Go elsewhere!

Another contender of the best deep dish pizza here in LA (other being Masa of Echo Park) would have to be Hollywood Pies. In my opinion, their main emphasis would have to be the topping/filling of the pizza rather than the crust. Masa does their crust really well with decent sauce and great topping (traditional - sausage and mushroom on top). Hollywood Pies' sausage are actual slices of sausage whereas Masa's is a layer of sausage patty on top of the pizza. I really enjoyed the variety of Hollywood Pies and thought their pizza was good. I would love to return again to try it for a second time before deeming it GREAT but overall, great place. Don't come in here expecting nice decor. It's pretty bare and simple inside.

The newest Fogo De Chao location takes over former Roy's Hawaiian establishment in downtown Los Angeles. It's so new that they did not have their liquor license to serve alcohol when I dined there this past Friday. Last time I dined at Fogo De Chao was about 8 years ago at the Beverly Hills location. It didn't impress me but I didn't want to write the restaurant off just after one try. Decided to dine there again and the results were the same. Quality of meats were okay at best. I would prefer ordering one tender, well cooked filet mignon, steak or lamp chop then to have unlimited amounts of decently cooked meat. While both my experiences in food quality at Fogo De Chao was "okay," I will have to say that the customer service at this new location was TOP NOTCH AMAZING! Loved the staff and our waitress.

I stepped in here for my first time this past weekend after dining at Sqirl. I'm a big fan of vintage trinkets, clothing and accessories so it was a treat to check out the products. From earrings, shoes, soap (not vintage), knick knacks, and books to hair pins, flasks and much more -- this place has it all for sale (excluding the furniture). My friend and I even got to talking to the shop's owner, Lisa, and she was amazing! Truly a genuine small business owner who has a deep passion for vintage and spreading awareness of the importance of momma poppa shops. Can't wait to come back for more of the cute jewelry and accessories!
