When confronted by real challenges in this life, it is very encouraging to see the evidence of His work in redemption in one’s heart. It demonstrates – to us first – that He is faithful and that He is actually changing us. Yes, to see Him in action is…

One sign of biblical humility is our consistency in the practice of Kingdom prayer. Praying like this allows us to remember our total dependency on His work, at the same time that gives us a place to rest, to enjoy Him. A shelter with the Most High. #how #hispanic #discipleship

So many times I do get excited about curriculums, plans, strategies to do discipleship right. It's very easy to be lured by successful discipleship leaders, people with big followings and very successful ministries. So many times its very easy to forget about how much I depend His work. The last few weeks have been very challenging, and with not great results.

It has been depressing, to tell you the truth.

And then, we had a kingdom prayer gathering. It was just what I wanted, just what I needed.

To pray for His Kingdom, based on His Word was refreshing. It brought my need to follow Him in humility back to focus. It was not like a pep talk. It was not empty optimism. It was a time, an intimate time, where we were guided by His word to ask for forgiveness, to worship Him, and to intercede for others.

A Kingdom prayer strategy should be an essential, in any attempt to make disciples among Hispanic Americans.

To follow Him in humility does not warranties ministry success, in human terms. But it proves to oneself how much He has changed our own heart. It proves to us, the disciple-maker, that the Gospel is true. #hispanic #discipleship #how

Today I started the most intentional outreach to serve my Target Group, among Hispanic man. It's heavily based on social media, Web presence, and technology tools. And yet, He reminded me that it's not about the tools, or how good I am at using them. It's not about how trendy my approach is, and not even how beneficial for the Hispanic community my Connecting Point really is. It's about He showing me how much He has changed my heart, to the point of being desperate to share His love with others.

Because the ability to love others is unnatural to the human heart. Because the presence of that crazy love shows me His gospel is true, in me.

And to find satisfaction in this truth, instead of trying to find it in ministry success, requires a humility that can only come from Him.

To follow Him in humility means to do what He is asking me to do (to love Him above all, and to love others), even when it's painful, and specially if it exposes my heart raw so that I can see my idols, yes, but also how much He has really restored me. #how #discipleship #hispanic

There used to be very little that excited Mr as much as space exploration. At one point in my Christian life, I was confronted with the challenge of seriously exploring a career in NASA, and becoming a pastor. Now days, I'm fascinated by companies like SpaceX, whose founder has the audacity of not being conformed by what his company has already achieved. No, he wants to fly people to Mars.

With all the amazing things that that particular goal implies, thanks to His work in me, I'm now even more fascinated by another mission, another goal. On the surface they may not be even comparable, but trust me, they are similarly impossible. I want to see Him working more and more in me, to the point that follow Him in humility may be as natural for me as breathing.

I don't want to go to Mars. I want to love God and love others, specially in cultural diversity.
