Wait... 2/14 is Valentine's Day, so is this a date?!
Good luck getting past security with your Flora badges...
Since you will be discussing education, I would love to hear a discussion about the notion that everyone should go to college.  Why not re-establish strong apprenticeship programs?  After all, we makers are primarily in the "learn by getting our hands dirty" camp.  And I also suspect we are fairly representative of the middle-class entrepreneurship that Obama wants to promote to get our economy growing again.  (Yes, I would have posted a question to this effect on YouTube, but missed the window of opportunity.)
+Seairth Jacobs As long as the projected motivation for higher education is for better jobs & status, more money. instead of an education. Your question is moot.

The aspirations of educators & administrators are the most politically expedient. >the "learn by getting our hands dirty" camp< IMHO can do very well without government intervention. Dressing up in suit & tie  in order to talk to power is humiliating !
I'm getting married this year, and I'm well on my way to "making" a few fun things for my wedding that are music & wedding related. I plan to track the progress on (wddng on vine and twitter).

One of our customers made TIME's 50 best websites of 2012 last year, and I ran across Limor's (aka LadyAda's) story compelling. I browsed and thought to myself - hey, I could make some of this stuff! - not knowing the community was called the maker community.  I used to take apart and fix simple problems with our VCR as a kid, and always wanted to tinker with electronics, so this is something I knew I could get into.

Thank you, Lady Ada! See you in the fireside chat!
