Recent UK Ironman Champion and Action for Children supporter Lucy Gossage wishes all our riders good luck for Sunday’s Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 Bike Ride!

Our volunteers will be cheering you along the route at miles 31, 65 and 99! Look out for us with our bang bang sticks and foam hands. We’ll be at meeting point A in Green Park at the end of the ride with much needed refreshments.

To mark the 18th anniversary of @ByteNight, Action for Children surveyed 16-24 years-olds to understand what support they received from their parents after moving out:

• 35% admitted to asking for advice on paying bills and money management
• 35% said they had borrowed money.
• 42% confessed to regularly asking their parents for advice on cooking and cleaning

What was your moving out experience like? http://buff.ly/1JzZpIS
Many young people get parents' help when they move out - Byte Night helps those who can't get support from their family.

This week, as apart of #FosteringFriday, we're highlighting Annette who has been fostering with her husband, Edward, for over 20 years.

Annette already had three children, but decided to adopt a son, and would encourage more people to come forward. It's a decision that needs careful consideration, but the rewards can be massive.

“I first thought about fostering when I read an article in a magazine about children needing homes. I couldn't help but feel that I could do something to help, their tiny faces on the page cried out to me and I knew this was what I needed to do.”

#RideLondon is just a few days away and we wanted to show you just how dedicated staff at Action for Children are.

We have four taking part in Sunday’s event and these committed staff members will be cycling 100 miles through London, Surrey and back again before crossing the finish line in front of Buckingham Palace.

Good Luck Helen, Selina, Keith and Mark! You can do this!

Step Out walks are a great way to get your local community involved, active and aware of Action for Children’s work. It is only thanks to you, our supporters, that we’re able to help 300,000 children, young people and families each year across the UK, making growing up safer.

Step Out for walks range from small, gentle walks across picturesque parks and villages to longer, more challenging outings. There really is a sponsored walk for everyone. Visit our website to find a walk near you http://buff.ly/1IkCB5e.

Introduction
Action for Children is a national charity that supports and speaks out on behalf of the most vulnerable and neglected children and young people in the heart of communities throughout the UK.

We work directly with more than 300,000 children, young people, parents and carers through 650 services. We help transform the lives of thousands of children and young people each year and we’ve been doing so for over 145 years.
