But the [ gentile ] woman came and did Jesus homage, saying, “Lord, help me.” He said in reply, “It is not right to take the food of the children and throw it to the dogs.”
Why would the very symbol of love and acceptance call a gentile women a dog?
There is a level of interpretation that emerges once certain words are understood properly.
In scriptures the disbeliever and believers are often portrayed as animals. Believers are often described as lamb, sheep, oxen. Disbelievers are described as dogs, wolfs, birds, basically predictors.
A very important symbol here is food. In scripture food is sometimes used to refer to scripture as it is our spiritual food.
Matt. 26:28, "for this is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for forgiveness of sins."
John 6:52-53, "The Jews therefore began to argue with one another, saying, How can this man give us His flesh to eat? 53 Jesus therefore said to them, 'Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in yourselves.'"
1 Cor. 11:27, " Therefore whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner, shall be guilty of the body and the blood of the Lord."
"And while they were eating, Jesus took some bread, and after a blessing, He broke it and gave it to the disciples, and said, "Take, eat; this is My body." 27 And when He had taken a cup and given thanks, He gave it to them, saying, "Drink from it, all of you; 28 for this is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for forgiveness of sins. 29 "But I say to you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in My Father’s kingdom," (Matt. 26:26-29).
These certain words that carry the same meaning throughout other holy scriptures are another proof that they are from the same source.
It is no fault in the blind nor in one born lame, nor in one afflicted with illness, nor in yourselves, that ye should eat in your own houses, or those of your fathers, or your mothers, or your brothers, or your sisters, or your father's brothers or your father's sisters, or your mohter's brothers, or your mother's sisters, or in houses of which the keys are in your possession, or in the house of a sincere friend of yours: there is no blame on you, whether ye eat in company or separately. But if ye enter houses, salute each other - a greeting of blessing and purity as from Allah. Thus does Allah make clear the signs to you: that ye may understand.
The blind dead and dumb are not figuratively blind, deaf or
Dumb, but rather people who are not believers, they do not see, hear or understand the scriptures.
[Baqarah 2:18] Deaf, dumb and blind; and they are not to return.
[Baqarah 2:171] And the example of the disbelievers is similar to one who calls upon one that hears nothing except screaming and yelling; deaf, dumb, blind - so they do not have sense.
So in conclusion Jesus pbuh was saying that the scripture is for the house of Israel and not for the Gentiles while the Quran is stating that it is a book for all of Allah's free willed creation.
So next time you see animals or
Food in scripture see if my interpretation of those words gives you any insight into the scripture.
