Preparing for Avatarfest.

One of the most emblematic objects in Condensation Land is its Klein bottle. The Klein bottle originated as a scripting experiment in Second Life, and was subsequently migrated to Opensim, where it could be linked in a single 2889-prim linkset (quite a prowess, at the time - the viewer crashed at almost every attempt to link so many prims together :)).

Well, now we're preparing an exhibit for Avatarfest 2016 (thanks +Han Held for counting us in), and +Pep Plastichansa (Plastichansa Bade) has migrated the bottle to mesh. Now the impact in the parcel is 2 (!!!) instead of 2889.

Some quick reflections:

* It's great to parcitipate in festivals, exhibitions, etc, because it forces you to revise and review your work, and, hopefully, to update (or at least maintain :)) it.
* There's no better tribute to one's work than to have it continued and transformed by somebody else (ty Plastic! :)).
* When I see parts of Condensation successfully migrated to mesh, I can envision a future in which Condensation is migrated to a technology completely different from Opensim. I hope that Opensim will continue to be developed, flourish still more and keep existing; but in case the technology stagnated, we would be able to salvage the fundamental parts of Condensation using another platform.

The change to the bottle has been documented in an update here: http://www.condensation.land/klein-bottle/ , and this very same photo has been also posted to my Flickr stream: https://www.flickr.com/photos/zonja/28618690193/

Documenting Condensation Land: The 2889 prim rotating Klein bottle
A Klein bottle is a mathematical object, "an example of a non-orientable surface". A bottle that has no 'inside' or 'outside', because the 'inside' is continuous with its 'outside'. The only way to represent a Klein bottle in a three-dimensional space is by allowing the surface to intersect ...

Documenting Condensation Land: A very short story of Arrabal Tango Club (photos and videos).
Arrabal Tango Club was founded in SL on june the 7th, 2008. It was created by Favio Piek and Ludmilla Writer, with a little help from Zonja Capalini. Here's a video of the opening party: The club, one of the very few in SL that offered tango music, was quite a success.

Sadly, I agree with you, also with some others who have left also contribute to making our scene feel more empty (fleep tuque, for instance). That's one of the things that motivated me to start avatarfest...so that we who are left feel less alone. :)

Interesting to know. I had my previous incarnation of Condensation hosted in a Windows machine provided by my company. Normally not shared. But then it was occasionally touched by somebody else, and disaster ensued, as it had to be.

Now I'm extremely happy with having my stuff hosted by Metropolis. They are very nice, very responsive, performace is fantastic, and prices are right. And I keep virtuality to experiment with Linux, I'm new to it, I come from the mainframe world and OS/2. Mint looks fantastic, btw. I'll have to study and learn linus seriously, I guess :)

Introduction
My name is Zonja Capalini. I am a photographer, a machinimatographer (YouTube, Flickr), and an Opensim activist.

I'm also an (admittedly lazy) blogger.

I own and administer the Opensim-powered Condensation Land regions in the Metropolis Grid. Condensation Land has its own web, and a Flickr group
