From now on with the sky as my roof
From now on let the risk lead me to
From now on somewhere I never knew
From now on call me royal blue

From now on fly as high as I want
From now on I'll show my weak spot
From now on you know that I do
From now on call me Royal Blue

At Sprouts. Get to the checkout. Cashier doesn’t see me.

Very stealthily roll my drink down the conveyor belt where it gets to the end, but the belt keeps moving and my drink keeps rolling.

Cashier finally notices, “Hey! Are you playing with my conveyor belt!?”

“Yesss!”, I smile, “Because I am an adult and no one can tell me not to!”

She laughs.

“Well, I mean except you.”

She laughs again.

“But you can’t ground me if I don’t listen!”

Laughing intensifies.

Yeah, it’s good to be a grown-up.

Life happens.

Sometimes it’s good.
Sometimes it’s bad.

And sometimes it dumps a pile of shit in your path.

What matters is not whether it’s fair (it often isn’t).
What matters is how one chooses to deal with it.

We can spend time complaining.
We can spend time pointing the finger.
We can spend time blaming others for the situations we find ourselves in.
And we can learn to identify as a victim of the unfairness of life.

Or we can take personal responsibility for our lives and use our ability to seek out more favorable options (including how to cope) and move on.

Every single person on the planet is forced to deal with hardship and misfortune at one time or another.

Sometimes it’s because we make bad decisions.
Sometimes it’s because we tolerate things far longer than we should.
Sometimes it’s because we’re in the wrong place at the wrong time.
And sometimes we are simply thrust into things we don’t want to be a part of.

But that’s life.
It happens to everyone at one time or another.

You don’t improve your life by complaining about the one you have.
You don’t improve your life by refusing to take personal responsibility for it.

You improve your life by taking steps to change it for the better.

It can be a lot of work — and it may require some sacrifices — but taking personal responsibility for one’s life and taking steps to change it is far more effective than staying where one is, doing nothing, and complaining about the view.

The fact is, our lives are a direct reflection of our priorities.

Want to be healthier? Focus on your health.
Want to be smarter? Focus on your education.
Want to be a better person? Focus on self-improvement.
Want to be more resilient? Challenge yourself.
Want to get over your fears? Face them.

If we don’t like where we are in life, we can change that. But complaining about it won’t do it. And blaming others won’t do it either.

Want a better life? Work for it.

Change your priorities and you change your life.

No one else is going to do it for you.

Whether it’s a smile on someone’s face or a look of gratitude in their eyes, every day is an opportunity to bring something wonderful to the world that won’t exist in the universe until you — and you alone — create it.

Every single moment in our lives is a one-of-a-kind opportunity. And although the positive moments we share with others can sometimes seem insignificant, never underestimate the power they can have on those who are affected by them.

Every time you perform an act of kindness, you generate a wave of positive energy that didn’t exist in that form before you created it. That wave creates ripples that can be both long-lasting and far-reaching.

Create and contribute to these ripples whenever you can and you may just find you attract more of the types of positive moments you desire in your life.

The people you encounter in your life are always much more likely to treat you with kindness when they witness or experience your kindness, your compassion, your generosity, and your willingness & desire to find ways to be helpful or make things more convenient for others.

"Integrity does not involve feeding people’s egos in an attempt to manipulate them into getting something you want. Integrity is not being nice with the expectation of reward. Integrity is not preying on people’s weaknesses to meet your own needs. Integrity is not making promises you cannot keep. Integrity is not withholding key information until you have won someone over by fueling their desires. Integrity is not waiting until they’ve signed the dotted line to reveal the fine print or legally manipulative part of the contract.

What those things encompass can be described quite simply as inauthentic, offensive, and manipulative."

+Marjolein Schat I read this today, different source but..
"A simple soul, seeking life’s lessons, he rides with the reins slack on his horse’s neck, letting nature’s spirit guide him. When the knights of Arthur’s court ride forth to seek the Grail, which has appeared to them in a vision, Percival goes as well. Each knight enters the forest at a different place, a place where there is no path. "
The point being that anywhere there is a path, someone has already been there and it is not your path.
that fits this sentiment.
I have a whole thesis on "The Journey" Hard to fit it into a few phrases :)

If you go out of your way to be friendly and nice to people, for no reason other than it just feels good or like the right thing to do, THANK YOU.

Even if and when it means people don’t always see or appreciate it, THANK YOU.

Even if your desire to help others or make them more comfortable sometimes gets you into trouble, THANK YOU.

Even if what you did was “no trouble” or “the easiest thing to do” or “any decent human being would have done it” , THANK YOU.

Even if you do these things without the need for acknowledgment, THANK YOU.

Because if you’ve done these things, you’ve touched many lives, including my own – directly or indirectly – and you deserve to be thanked whether you think you do or not.

So THANK YOU.

And please carry on doing what you do, like I know you will, whether I tell you to or not.

You rock. THANK YOU.

When I’m a bazillionaire, I’m going to invent a technology that provides subtitles for people who don’t verbalize clearly.

That’s right, for only 3 easy payments of $19.99, the Virtual Subtitle Tech 2000™ (VST2K™) will allow you to never have to ask someone to repeat themselves 3 times — only to ultimately just nod and smile because you still have absolutely no idea what they said.

Had my passenger side window broken. This was the 3rd auto glass place I called. First 2 quotes seemed high. Glad I didn't settle. Not only did these guys offer me the lowest quote, they *also* tinted my window for *less* than what the other guys wanted to charge to just to replace my window. Called at 8:30am. Got a 12pm appt. and was able to work on my laptop using their free WiFi until they were done. They replaced my window and tinted it in less than an hour. Friendly. AAA+++ experience. I told them I'd leave a good review because they truly earned it. Thank you guys!

It's a nice enough space, but I've never been to a gym where more equipment was either not functioning correctly or was "out of order". So much so that I'm leaving a review about it. This place could be great if more than 80 percent of the cardio and weigh machines worked.

Someone tried to steal my catalytic converter this morning in Barstow. Sawed through one side, but I scared them off before they got through all of the other. I showed up at Ralph's unannounced. Was greeted by the owner within 10 seconds. He heard my story and had my vehicle on a lift within a minute later. And before I could finish posting a status update to Facebook about it, the welder had my muffler fixed. I'm not even exaggerating. Now that's amazing service. The price? $15. And worth every penny. This was 10 minutes ago. I'm still in awe.

I travel the country and often use Panera Bread as a place to get some work done online. I've been here many times. This location is, by far, one of the most outstanding PB locations in the nation. Turnover rates are usually high in this business. The fact that many of the staff have remained at this location year after year is a testament to how well this particular location is managed. This place operates like a well oiled machine. Regardless of what time of day or year you visit, the coffee is consistently hot and fresh. The food is prepared to high standards. The atmosphere is comfortable. The staff is friendly. And the place is clean. While the general going public will always have a range of experiences at any place (you can't please everyone), the standards at this particular location set a high bar and, more importantly, are consistent year after year. This is one of the best, folks. Enjoy your visit.
