Here's a new chapter of The Story of the #Greeks. I'm hoping to have improved on the pacing, as well as differentiating character lines or quotes (though both are pretty light in this book). Anyway, there are things that I'm happy about with this, and things that I'm not.

What do you guys think?

This is a super short test using different layers and pitch changes. I took a line from The Hobbit, as the dragon seemed appropriate.

Bruce Lee's description of what martial arts means to him strikes close to home for me. Using your body to honestly express yourself, being true to yourself. Adaptability is one thing that I love about studying Jeet Kun Do.

Someone notify #defleppard  about this.

In all seriousness, this is an incredible piece of bionic technology. We're seeing this type of engineering more and more often these days. Much of it is still focused in university settings (such as #git  in the article), but it's only a matter of time before clinical trials are completed and these sorts of higher-functioning prostheses become relatively common-place.

Cyborgs are our future.

Saturday, February 22nd, three of Seattle's state Senators, Frank Chopp, Jamie Pedersen and Brady Walkinshaw, will be conducting a #townhallmeeting  at the Seattle First Baptist Church located at 1111 Harvard Ave. The event runs from 1:30 to 3:00 in the afternoon.

Walkinshaw is new to the Senate, so be sure to show up and communicate your concerns and issues so that he (and Sens. Chopp and Pedersen) can start the #legislative  session on the right foot with his constituents.

Here's my first go at a #monologue, taken from The Hobbit (the same copy that my mom read to me from when I was tiny). Thoughts?

It's early days yet on my #voiceover   journey, so I would love to hear any feedback

I'm using Audacity for the editing (EQ, compression, normalization, etc) and am using a mic with no pop filter (though it's on the way!).

This is for a project on LibriVox.org, which is a great place for public domain audiobooks.

I might be getting LASIK in a couple of weeks. I'm legally blind and have had glasses since before I can remember, so this could be a bit change for me.

You'll love it! I had it done last year and you'll feel like it's a
fucking scientific miracle.

I had a lot of fun at my first Town Hall forum yesterday. I was definitely inspired by some of the folks there, who have been dedicating years (some decades) to improving the lives of Washingtonians.

My own project, +Understanding Cascadia, is still in its infancy, but I know that through hard work and dedication, we'll help our fellow citizens become more involved in local politics.

I'll be there tomorrow afternoon, hopefully getting a few questions and remarks in. Let me know if you want me to express anything on your behalf!

#Seattle Residents!

Three of your state Representatives are holding a town forum tomorrow afternoon at the Seattle First Baptist Church, located  at *1111 Harvard Ave*

This is a new legislative term, so it's especially important that we work with our reps, and make sure our actual interests are represented in Olympia.

The event runs from 1:30pm to 3:00pm, so it can provide a nice break between the morning and evening routines. And besides, who doesn't like a little politicking after lunch?

If you can't make it, let me know what your main concerns are, like you did with our survey, and I will pass the messages on to the Reps tomorrow.

Have a great weekend, #Washington! And remember to stay safe on the #mountains, the areas around Mt. Rainier especially!

Introduction
I live in Seattle with my wife and two Texas Heeler puppies. I love what the area has to offer in terms of physical and cultural geography. Puget Sound is a beautiful region, nestled between two mountain ranges. Seattle itself is such a pedestrian/bicycle friendly city that it's very easy to stay active. As far as culture, there are more galleries and museums than days in the year.

I love where I am today, but I'm looking forward to change.

My wife and I chose Skydive Kauai for our first skydive and we couldn't have been happier. The plane, Sharky, is small and cozy, the crew are fun and professional and the experience is one that we'll remember for the rest of our lives. I recommend getting the DVD or pictures, as you'll definitely want to share your jump with your friends and family.

We went on the waterfall ride and had a great time. Our guide, Dave, knew a lot about our horses and the surrounding landscape. Lakota was a fantastic horse who took guidance extremely well.

My wife and I did the Sunset Zip and had a great time, even though it was a bit too cloudy to really appreciate the sunset. Our guides, Mark and Sean, were hilarious and knowledgeable. We would definitely recommend Koloa Zipline to anyone.
