Wow, he doesn't even try to obfuscate it.

1st of all most people don't care about their Reddit account, banning it won't do anything, they take seconds to create.

2nd isn't shit talking a big part of the point of Reddit? It's more anonymous than Facebook or Google+ and less regulated, start taking those things away and all you have left is a horribly outdated website full of dank memes written by 12 year olds.

Or am I missing something and this is the beginning of Reddit becoming the intellectual gold standard it's always dreamed of being? Or maybe more advertiser friendly ;)

General Discussion  -

+Phil Nickinson ,  +Ron Amadeo   someone needs to deal with  Google's new manual review of play store submissions. After encountering issues with it, some colleagues and I decided to do some tests to see what gets blocked.

The main test consisted of submitting 50 different little soundboards to both the play store and Apple app store. The ios and Android versions were identical to each other. Apple blocked 2 on the grounds of copyright infringement and Google blocked 6. All of the apps used only resources marked for reuse with modification. The most outrageous one blocked by Google was called "learn m words". Which was literally a list of common, simple words that start with m.

The bad part is it seems to be completely arbitrary, there will be 10 apps that are all almost identical in functionality and they will block a new one or even pull one of the existing 10 (and remotely disable it on all devices) because one of their reviewers happened to be going through that account.

They provide virtually no recourse in the event of a blocked or pulled application. It's not a big deal for me because my company doesn't use the play store for distribution of our software but I've talked to individual developers who get completely ruined by this after spending months to a year working an application.

I can't really find any articles on it which is surprising to me since the play store went from being the most open software market to the most closed overnight.

Don't worry though, this curation is vastly improving QAQC on the play store just yesterday we all had the honor of being presented with the bruh button on the front page of the play store... https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.headgraphix.bruh

It's completely out of hand, I really hope someone with a following does some research on this and makes some noise.

They had previously dropped one of my apps. We were in the top 10 for 2½ years and then just dropped it without warning.

I didn't have time to update my remaining apps before tomorrows deadline (they were published 4-5 years ago) so I unpublished all of them yesterday. Better that than risk having my entire Google account deleted. I'm sure something that old would no longer be in compliance with something.

#Chromixium1.0 is on it's way to a device near you soon!
I am doing the final testing to the long-awaited final, stable release of Chromixium OS. I don't have an exact release date, but it should be here sometime in the next 10 days. In the meantime, here's a screenshot to whet the appetite. As you can see there are some updated icons to reflect upstream changes in Chromium/Chrome OS, updated fonts and some pre-loaded apps.

I didn't think it would come to this but in light recent product abandonments and flukes I must issue an ultimatum. If I am not taken at Google I/O this year I am going to have to officially revoke my Google fanboy status. I never thought it would come to this, we had good times together, but alas if you don't love me anymore I am going to have to move on. 3 years is just to long to go without getting any I/O and I know the future may hold nothing for me but line after line of Visual Basic and archaic system wide ever growing registries, but that's a risk I may have to take if you truly have no feelings for me any longer.

Hey +Microsoft Developer, I hear you can take view distance into account with your DIPs, can make phone, tablet, and desktop apps with a single code base, and have a pretty sweet new AR headset coming out soon.

Aaaaaaaaaaannd you're also the company that makes IE.

Please don't make me do it Google.
