Very interesting project to simplify self-hosting cloud services on your Raspberry Pi. It begins with Arch Linux ARM rather than the standard Raspbian distro. This is much more sensible starting point for a headless app server because it eliminates the a lot of unnecessary background processes. I'm throwing it some support, and I'm looking forward to seeing where it goes.

As much as people love to bash Microsoft, Oracle seems to be doing a better job of hammering the open source community...

I used #aviate for a couple of weeks, and I gave out my five invites in this community, but I am less enchanted with it now. I guess my main issue with it is that it does not seem to be able to figure out what "space" I am really in. At my workplace, it thinks I'm at an attached fitness center, when I am working from home it never shifts out of "home". I would like to be able to TELL it what context I am in and have it learn from me explicitly -- and then I saw that a friend had recommended the home screen app by EverythingMe. It gets a fair bit closer to what I was hoping for.

I have 5 Aviate invites available. I am also trying to get a custom URL in Google+ -- I'll give the invites to the first five people that follow my page.

I had one person that I met in person for the first time tell me that he recognized me immediately based on this avatar.
