Oh man, another sunrise shot?! Yup, another sunrise shot.  Since we shot both mornings at Rowena, this is yet anther one from there.Probably my least favorite of the shots so far, but I do like how it has a bit more of the field as it slopes downward.

+Zach Blackwood actually it is "not" my least favorite. I somewhat like it. It grows on you. The color tone of the sky is almost identical to the flowers. That tone balance is somewhat appealing to the eye.

My only negative is that I would like to see the middle ground lightened up a little (not too much), to see some detail in those hills. The dark hills to the middle right just seems like they need to be less silouetted? Your NIK Vivesa would work beautifully to isolate those hills.

You know you have the makings of a good picture when it grows on you and you keep going back to it. I do really like it. Wish I had taken the picture.

Lets start the day off with another sunrise photo. This one was from Sunday morning. The color wasn't nearly as good as Saturday's, but it was still an enjoyable one.  This is of course from Rowena Crest where we shot both  our sunrises for the weekend.

Spent the weekend up in the gorge to do some wild flower shooting. We had pretty decent weather overall with the exception being Saturday afternoon and evening.  During the day we decided to hit up Panther Creek Falls since we hadn't been there yet.

It was raining pretty heavily when we arrived and during most of our visit. Put the rain cover on our bags to the test and our shoes for sure.  This waterfall is quite impressive in person and pictures don't really do it justice for how beautiful it is.

Had to climb down 2 rocky areas, but beyond that it was a rather easy short climb down.

Such a beautiful set of falls. Love it there. You made a really great comp.

After a pretty cloudy day with a bit of light rain, the sky started to break up as sunset neared. About a half hour before sunset there were some great light rays/beams coming from the clouds, but they quickly disappeared as sunset drew closer.  Color was pretty lackluster, so I tried a couple new compositions from a very commonly shot spot.

This was taken a few weeks back in Corvallis.  Spent the walk shooting with my 85 1.4 to give it some good testing and to give me some much needed feel to it's focal length and distances for shooting.

+Michael Hatten I don't know. If you look at his profile, his picture is gone. If you try to visit his page, it says he no longer has a page. On my event page for the Steens Mt. trip, the comment lines are suppressed and you can no longer comment. The page is there, but frozen. Dennis has grumbled in the past about social media pages. I am just assuming that he terminated the pages himself. I do have his phone number, but I am not going to call about Steens Mt until we get closer to the date. If he has dropped out of G+, I can't think that he would still want to go to the Steens. But, I personally want to go? As well, I know that +Steve J. Giardini signed up to go and +Dennis Wisinski was considering it.

It's Tuesday morning, time for another sunrise picture. Surprisingly (or not at all really) this is from last Saturday at Rowena again.  There was a handful more photographers than what you see in the picture, some of which were there earlier than we were. So I decided to get back further and see if I could get more of the fiels and include a few of them for the sunburst.  Found this patch with the flowers facing the right direction!

Enough of the "fun" shots from earlier.  Here's one of my sunrise shots from the weekend. This was my first year shooting during the flower season in this area.  Not exactly a unique location and there were a good number of other photographers here but for good reason.  This was just a few minutes before the sun popped over the top of the hill.

Thanks everyone! +Michael Pike, we were at Columbia Hills during the afternoon and through sunset on Saturday, as well as Friday evening but we arrived a tad late there.  Big area to choose from really, pretty fun place to explore.

Beautiful weekend so far to be shooting in the gorge. Mt. Hood is quickly disappearing under some clouds, but still nice to the east!

I think I buy to many domains for various sites and ideas. Most of which never go anywhere and I let them lapse after the year.  One of these domains is my newest one and it's set to be a storefront for my landscape prints.

www.zbphotos.com

It's a minimalist design with minimal number of pages with the idea that it will be a better place to sell prints online.  I'd love for you to check it out and see how it works on your computer or mobile device as well and what you think.  I'm making very minor tweaks here and there and the biggest one will be a logo of sorts when I finally decide on what to keep there, but for now it has a placeholder logo.

It's through a service called +Art Storefronts and I have been extremely happy with them so far.  They keep adding features, have competitive pricing, in house fulfillment or self fulfillment options and much more. New stuff all the time keeps getting added. I originally heard about them via +Martin Bailey a few months back.

The main feature that enticed me to give them a try is how you can preview the picture on metal, acrylic, matted, framed etc... and how it will look on your wall. You're able to change the color of the wall background, and you'll see the picture with your options shown to scale in a room with a couch as reference.  Being able to see how small or big a print will be, on the correct color with some items for scale is awesome.

I've had a few issues over the last couple of months with bugs or wanting minor tweaks to functionality and they have been super responsive and fast in fixing everything I've run into.

This sounds like an ad I suppose, and in a way it is, but it's more to let everyone know about a new front to purchase my landscape prints with some awesome new tools and features to make the decision process easier.

Here's a referral link where you can check them out, and if you sign up with them, of course I get some benefits for using the link. Or you can delete the referral aspect and go to their home page directly!
