When it comes to restaurants, New York City offers plenty of options. But two new international concepts are changing the perception of the typical dining experience. Zagat editor Billy Lyons visited Yo! - a sushi restaurant with a conveyer belt - and Ikinari Steak - where guests are encouraged to stand while dining - to see whether these new restaurants have staying power in a city full of crazy dining experiences.

Better Booch is a Los Angeles based company that's focused on fermentation. The brand's line of fermented teas - better known as kombucha - has not only caught the attention of health conscious Los Angelenos, it's caught the interest of restauranteurs like Beau Laughlin and Brett Cranston of Sawyer, who see value in the beverage by itself as well as a mix for cocktails. Zagat visited Better Booch to find out the health benefits of kombucha and see how the product is made.

Eating sushi and sashimi of any kind can be adventurous, but if you want to make the most of your night out for sushi, your best bet is to try omakase tasting menus. Zagat editor Billy Lyons visited three Manhattan based sushi restaurants - Kosaka, Sushi Seki, and Sushi Nakazawa - to learn from firsthand from the sushi chefs themselves why eating seasonal fishes is the best way to improve your sushi game.

While tamales are closely connected to Mexican cuisine, these corn or cornmeal made dishes - often stuffed with various meats and vegetables - have many cultural influences, especially in the Mississippi Delta. Zagat editor Billy Lyons traveled to the region to discover the stories behind a selection of restaurants that make up the state's famed tamale trail. Craving tamales on his return home, Lyons visited Gordo's Cantina in Queens to explore the differences and similarities behind this well traveled treat.
