Together - Vision Drawing of the Statue & Burj Khalifa.

As I am completely jetlagged and on Dubai time, I thought I would process an image in the early morning hours based on the vision I had when I saw these statues. The image works as a landscape or square crop but I decided to post this version given all that beautiful negative space. It is based on my presence-absence principles. I wanted to make the long exposure details in the clouds very subtle to the eye. Now, I am off to bed again! More images in the near future.
I was with my great friends Ian and Sally that day roaming around the beautiful grounds : )

Top 10 personal favorites of 2014 

Downtown San Jose, California is a great place for architectural photography. Although I have walked the area for many, many hours already, I still can find intriguing exterior or interior photo opportunities. 

This fourth photo is called Nevohteeb. I made it late in the day during sunset to get a nice glow of the top structure of the building on 225 West Santa Clara Street.

How to Build and Manage Awesome Communities
A community is a place where people can connect online to talk about things that they have in common or share interests with other people.

From Seth Godin in Tribes, “A tribe is a group of people connected to one another, connected to a leader, and connected to an idea. For millions of years, human beings have been part of one tribe or another. A group needs only two things to be a tribe: a shared interest and a way to communicate.” 

There are many reasons that you may want to start a community. Your company may want to organize its fan base, you may want to talk with other people who love photography or dogs, or you may want to discuss work-related topics such as how to manage employees or keeping up with the latest regulations in your industry. Communities can be purely social but should have a foundation to keep the intentions of the group clear. Leadership is needed within a community and the goals of the community should be transparent to all the members.
