If you need an HTTP mocking & expectation library that can intercept arbitrary HTTP requests in Node.js and provide your own responses to them, or simulate latency on your external requests, take a look at https://github.com/pgte/nock

RCA graduate Julian Melchiorri says the synthetic biological leaf he developed, which absorbs water and carbon dioxide to produce oxygen just like a plant, could enable long-distance space travel.

This is by far the most comprehensive algorithm visualization tool I've seen. Search, trees, graphs; all with pseudo-code running side-by-side and a way to trigger all kinds of interesting operations. What an amazing learning tool.
About VisuAlgo. Motivation. VisuAlgo was conceptualised in 2011 by Dr Steven Halim as a tool to help his students better understand data structures and algorithms, by allowing them to learn the basics on their own and at their own pace. Together with some of his students from the National ...

What happens when what you see disagrees with what you hear? Do you get confused, combine the stimuli in some way, or use one and ignore the other? This short video demonstrates the phenomenon called the McGurk effect. It shows how our brains deal with clashing input.

Sometimes you want to tell git to temporarily ignore a file. (E.g., if you locally want to remove ads for testing or disable authentication).
Add the commands below to your ~/.gitconfig file to get three commands git ignore <file>, git unignore <file> and git ignored (to list all of the ignored files).
Enjoy!

    [alias]
      ignore = update-index --assume-unchanged
      unignore = update-index --no-assume-unchanged
      ignored = !git ls-files -v | grep '^[[:lower:]]' | cut -f2 -d'

Excellent article; especially the "resilience" portion. I just kept nodding my head reading it.
  In May 2009, I walked into Y Combinator. My company, FlightCaster, had just gotten accepted and this was our intro session to the group. And kind of like the Dean of Admissions on the first day of freshman orientation, Jessica got up and recounted a bunch of stats about how cool our summer 2009 […]

Can't wait!
Officials say adding the kiosks with free Internet access will help close the digital divide, while others worry the city may be creating a monopoly.

Ever wondered how a game is made from scratch? In this ongoing series (67 episodes already) +Christopher Hebert uses C++, SDL and nothing but VIM (!). Talking through every step, he takes you from an empty file to a working platformer, with weapons enemies and more. It's amazing.

On the first day of what would be a depressing and alienating two-year trudge under the fluorescent lights of a rural high school, a soft-spoken bald man stood in front of my English class and looked at the ceiling as if trying to remember what he was going to say. "So. In the past few years, ...
