I've been saying for a while now. OEMs who love to bake their flavour of android really just screw up the experience. You know, like touchwiz, sense (surprisingly clean in some aspects which look the best out of the OEM skins), LG UI to Sony's xperia UI and many others.

Samsung, HTC have followed Sony's implementation by adding a theme engine. Yes, it's a nice feature but it falls short when their are so many inconsistencies in the UI of these OEMs. Proprietary software UI across android is just clunky. It was worth it in the gingerbread era but Google found a design language from Holo UI to Material design.

Now in my experience using these phones like the S6, G4, M8 and others. They all like to differentiate themselves to show these 'outstanding features' (clunky) in terms of UI to get the consumers buying in. That's just a bad idea and a waste of time and effort. Motorola, Alcatel and Nokia (yes a tablet but worth a mention) made some interesting moves. They literally put on stock pure android and some added their own launcher and left 99% unchanged. The UI is consistent all over but with a few tweaks with some proprietary apps. Unfortunately the same can't be said about the camera. Hopefully Motorola could do more on that end

This is what I think that every manufacture should do. Work on your bloody camera app and other apps that people use on a daily! Granted Google/Stock camera isn't the best. Now this is where the OEMs actually shine a little. With the S6, touchwiz has got a clean polished UI in the camera, HTC sense, Xperia and the G4 which takes it a step further. These is what consumers use on almost a daily basis. OEMs should differentiate with their software in just the camera and leave everything else unchanged. Motorola was close but fell short due to the lack of features on the camera. Motorola went for a simple combo that did catch and the eyes of some users, Stock android + tweaked camera + moto proprietary app that listens to your command anytime with a keyword ("OK, Jarvis" 😂) = a nice experience.

So there you have it. My personal opinion on how to make a great phone with a great software experience and a fantastic camera.

PS Who knows, maybe Google will add their polished theme engine and allow for the deadly skins from the respected manufacturers. Manufacturers probably could charge their skins at a pricey point if they opt for my idea. 😂

I hope you're all freaking happy to the spastics who record vertically on their phones. YouTube is now gonna look stupid with these types of contents and then one day some manufacture is going to make a tall vertical tv because apparently we love watching like that and our eyes look at things vertically.
