Come see Freedom Summer May 13, 2015 at the Strom Theater.  Produced by Alan Marshall

THE MARCH Civil Rights Arts Project was founded by Alan Marshall to produce an exhaustive collection of dramatic works that span the era of the civil rights movement from 1955 – 1968 using the mediums of theatre, dance and opera.

Alan Marshall has written and produced several dramatic works including The Birmingham Children's March, Shades of Mississippi, The Interview: JFK, Remembering Medgar Evers, THE MARCH: A Civil Rights Opera and Prelude to a Dream. Marshall directed Prelude to a Dream on August 27th, 2013 in Washington, D.C. , the eve of the 50th Anniversary of the 1963 March on Washington. He is currently writing Freedom Summer about the 1964 civil rights campaign when one thousand college students organized and made history in Mississippi.

Come to see the Middle School's performance of "The Spirit of Broadway" this thursday and/or friday night. (6:30 start time at the Strom).  

Get there early enough and bring your checkbooks as Youth Arts will be selling raffle tickets before each show.  

The raffle prizes are: $250 Visa Card, $100 Gift Certificate to local restaurant of your choice, and $50 Amazon gift card. See you soon!

"What an amazing week working with the third grade at Camden Rockport Elementary school. Those young writers worked so hard transforming their research into descriptive narratives. They captured voice and mastered revision. Thank you to Youth Arts,the talented third grade teachers- Susan Davis, Bonnie Macintosh, Steve Seidell, and Kitty Foss, and the saint-like patience of the parents who gave their time!"

Are you coming to the PTA’s Summer Activities Fair?
It is this Wednesday, March 26, 5-7pm in the Camden-Rockport Elementary School gymnasium.  Bring your checkbooks, as Youth Arts will be there selling raffle tickets.  If you miss us then, you can also buy them Thursday the 27th and Friday the 28th (6:30 pm) at the Strom when the middle school puts on their show!  See you then.

Fourth graders at CRES have learned to play traditional music on the kantele - a plucked string instrument native to Finland.

Taught by Celia Jones and Scott Dyer, the students will perform on Tuesday, January 28.
