I decided I want to get in to star-trek. And then realized I have lots of "homework" to do. 3 seasons of the original show, 7 seasons of Next Gen, 7 seasons of DS9, 9 seasons of Voyager, 4 seasons of Enterprise, 10 movies from the originals and two new movies.
While watching I felt like it was some work. I enjoyed it but damn.

It also made me think about the Marvel cinematic universe and people of the future who want to catch up to the entire thing. It's going to be a daunting task! future will tell if it will work out.

+Yosi Berman I had a very similar experience when I started watching Vlogbrothers on youtube. At the time they were at around 900 videos, just on their main channel, nevermind the many other channels they've made. I wanted to get all the jokes and feel like I was really part of the community, so I watched every video, and it took months of dedicated effort. I enjoyed it, or I wouldn't have done it, but it was still work.

I do want to point out, though, that I think this happens to any community. People expect members of the community to have a certain set of knowledge, but as time goes on, that set of knowledge gets larger, and any newcomers have a lot of 'required reading' to do. It happens on large scale with pop culture, but it also happens on really small scales, like if someone joins a pre-established group of friends. There are a bunch of jokes and norms and practices they have to learn. The bigger and more well-established the community, the more 'work' to be done.

I disagreed with the internet when it went ape-shit about Sansa being raped as far as the story goes. BUT, Sansa being raped and the camera focusing on Theon/Reek as if to say "look how hard this is for him" when she's being raped was tasteless.

I don't have a theory. But I do know that when I saw the title of this video I was immediately interested. Why DO we think it's cool?
I'm absolutely lost, but if it becomes a full comic misconception episode I would watch it.

This is hands down my least favorite episode. (I actually like beer bad... never knew why it's hated so)
For all the reasons you pointed out. But I think that the underlining problem I have with it is the depowering out of nowhere with no consequences or development.
There are a few times Buffy is depowered and it works to make great episodes. The best example being "Helpless" where her relationship with Giles develops Plus we get a better understanding of the watchers council.

But this is just so blah. the fear of hospitals and the cousin thing were never even hinted at before and never discussed again making this episode feel like it's not actually part of the show. I also just HATE when a show is reaching it's climax and then throws in a filler out of nowhere  (Angel season 5 "The Girl in Question" is the biggest culprit in the buffyverse)
And... yah, kinda creepy monster I guess but the eye sucky things always made it look so cheesy to me.
This is the only episode I usually skip.... not even "I Robot" has that distinction for me.

I want to submit a fourth option.
Dannys unborn baby.
The one she was going to have in season one with Khal Drogo, the one she sacrificed to try and save him. we don't know if the dragons would be born soon after or not, and what the exact circumstance of the birth would be. But under the bleeding star, with the blood of the dragon is definite.
I submit that the much like the "Shanshu" prophecy in "Angel" (spoiler alert to a show that ended 11 years ago?) this prophecy at the end means absolutely nothing

I haven't signed up for the signing thing because I'm not interested in that part of vidcon.
I love meeting my favorite creators. But luckily for me, most of them are "small" enough for me to be able to just come up to them and say hi in the middle of the con.

Those who are way bigger like, well, the vlogbrothers for instance. I don't really want to line up to say hi because last year it felt to me like I wouldn't get enough time to really do more then just say hi. Basically the wait time is too long for such a short meet.
And i'd rather use that time to get to meet more like minded individuals who also come to vidcon. I'm not that interested in signatures. Just coming to have a super fun time :)

I too hate haggling. Which is exceptionally hard in a middle eastern mindset. But then again, I moved to the US so PROBLEM SOLVED
