I don't know if small youtube changed or I did.
I used to feel a part of little youtube, but most of my youtube friends left the platform.
I still vlog, mostly for myself. And I still use the internet primarily for youtube.
But gone are the days when I and my youtube friends would have youtube conversations with video responses.

I miss the feeling of little youtube community. But at the same time, I don't know if I want to go through the tagging games and such all over again. And watch other internet friends give up....
Or maybe I do.... I don't know.

Anyway, I will come up to you in vidcon and thank you for being awesome, you have been warned. ;)

When I started reading comics it seemed to me that the main difference between Marvel and DC is that Marvel makes characters that we're meant to relate to, while DC makes characters  we're meant to aspire to be like.
Spiderman needs to learn that power=responsibility after first using his powers for profit. While Batman trains himself in ways that are larger than life.

The funny thing is, I like DC more. I like my comic-book superheros as these larger than life characters.

Although I'm not sure that translates well to other media, maybe that's one of the reasons the Marvel cinematic Universe is doing so well while we're all still skeptical about the upcoming DC one

I couldn't get past the first two episodes, Not because of the freak of the week stuff. I can't get past the on the nose writing, sub-par directing, glossy as fuck set and costume design...
Basically, all the reasons I couldn't stand Arrow

I'm writing this as a foreigner. I don't know much about country music or heard that many country songs. But this is the first time I heard country music being referred to as "sad". Probably has to do with the image of classic country music.
And I don't know if I would like country music, I know I don't like country pop. But then again, I'm not a fan of pop.

Does new music change the older music? does knowing the history of music change the music?
well, that depends on how you define "different". The music obviously stays the same, but your perception of the music changes all the time.
Every time you hear a song it's different from your perspective; you have had a better or worse day than the last time you listened to it, the subject matter may appeal to you more or less with age, this time around you're really listening to that bass line.
And yes, this time you may be listening to a song after knowing more about the history of the genre or the artist or any number of things that can make your perspective different.

I'd have to agree that emojis are a distant cousin of comics... or maybe they're actually closer to hieroglyphics

I think Chinese spelling works something like Bliss symbols, with different characters having a meaning individually but meshed together they mean something else.... don't quote me on this

Comics could work for communication.... just go top to bottom and you fixed the direction problem.

+Yosi Berman I believe that the Bliss Symbols were actually initially inspired by Chinese writing. But the end goal was to create a system of symbols that would be easily understood without needing to study the language too much. You could just look at it and know the meaning. It didn't take off like Bliss wanted, but it is still being taught at a few locations around the world.
