Brilliant! Although it is, of course, satire, it is nice to know that the "tipus" has survived, more or less intact, for decades. And there is an underlying warmth to the satire that captures the positive side of that continuity as well.

A strong believer in evolution sent me this - what he evidently thinks is decisive - proof. In other areas of intellectual endeavor this fellow is brilliant. Too bad that does not extend to his thinking on evolution.

Why does everyone get a zt"l except Rav Herzog zt"l. Someone is going to burn for this... Otherwise, beautiful.

A very positive experience. They were courteous, accommodating and negotiable (they also took into account that we came from far away). They fixed the problems we pointed out on the test drive at no cost. While their mechanic was trying to find the cause of one of the problems (he did, it was fixed), and it was taking a long time, they even treated us to dinner at a nearby restaurant!

A very pleasant experience. They were very courteous and accommodating, and the deal seemed very reasonable. We ultimately did not buy the car, but only because it was not precisely what we were looking for.

I have been banking with Citibank since 1985. One of my names does not appear as the official name on the account, but I have it on my checks and on other financial instruments I use. I have deposited hundreds, perhaps thousands, of checks in that name with no problem. Once before I had a deposited check returned, went into a different branch, explained the problem to a teller, who deposited it without any problem. Yesterday I had a deposited check returned for the same problem, and went into the Suffern branch. The teller would not deposit it without the approval of someone higher up the chain of command, but was reasonably polite, even trying to be helpful. The first fellow from behind a desk was not particularly polite, and certainly not helpful. He bounced the issue up to the manager, who was downright nasty. I have never been treated as a criminal in a bank before, but this fellow pretty blatantly and rudely charged that I was trying to pass a check made out to some other person (who just happens to share my last name - that this person's first name also appears on my check he attributed to my chicanery, since one can personalize a check any way he wants). I was shocked at the treatment. It was incredible. I walked out embarrassed and shamed. I strongly recommend staying away from these horrible people.

They told me on the phone I could have a used 06 Corolla for the price on the website for the same price certified. They also said it had ABS and side air bags. Guess what? When I got there, no ABS, no side air bags, and I had to pay more to have it certified. They tried to sell me something much more expensive by explaining how the payments would be the same, trying hard to avoid mentioning an actual price. They tried to make me feel guilty for actually expecting what they said on the phone to be true! All this with long periods of downtime to leave me to stew,
