🤓 Good vs Poor Alignment
Adho Mukha Svanasana / Downward Facing Dog
.
1) Keep the hands as wide as your shoulders.
2) Keep the feet as wide as your hips
3) Make sure your body weight is equally distributed between hands and feet
4) Inhale lengthen tailbone up towards the sky and back, lengthening the spine, zip lower belly in
5) Keep the legs and knees micro bend if the hamstrings are too tight
6) Hug arm bones into midline, as pushing the floor away
7) Lengthen outer shoulder and hug in with inner shoulder
8) Keep neutral pelvis, spine and scapula. Avoid sagging the torso and collapsing on the shoulder joints
9) Keep the cervical spine relax and press the throat/palate back towards the skull, keeping ears between arm, relaxing the gaze
10) Keeping the heels away from the floor helps release tension on the back of the legs and lower back
11) Activate the quads to help hamstrings.
12) Avoid popping the ribs out. .

1) Mantenga las manos tan anchas como sus hombros.
2) Mantenga los pies tan anchos como sus caderas
3) Asegúrese de que su peso corporal esté distribuido equitativamente entre las manos y los pies
4) Inhalar alargar el coxis hacia el cielo y hacia atrás, y alargar la columna vertebral, activando abdomen inferior
5) Mantenga las piernas y rodillas en micro flexión, si los isquiotibiales están demasiado tensos
6) Abrace los huesos del brazo en la línea media del cuerpo, como empujando el piso lejos de Ud.
7) Alargue la parte externa del hombro y abrace desde la parte interna del hombro
8) Mantenga la pelvis, la columna vertebral y la escápula neutra. Evite la flacidez del torso y el colapsar en las articulaciones de los hombros
9) Mantenga la columna cervical relajada y presione la garganta / paladar hacia el cráneo, manteniendo las orejas entre los brazos con la mirada relajada
10) Mantener los talones lejos del suelo ayuda a liberar la tensión en la parte posterior de las piernas y la espalda baja
11) Activar los cuádriceps para ayudar a los isquiotibiales.
12) Evitar colapsar en las costillas. .

My turn was to talk about the second #Niyama of Yoga: #Santosha (Contentment) this is a guiding principle of the yogic path that most closely translates to our concepts of joy, peace, and contentment. “It means keeping a positive attitude in difficult times. We can choose to wallow in darkness and difficulty, or we can rise above our challenges and see them as opportunities for transformation and the discovery of immense and lasting joy. The more we choose contentment, the more we are able to grow.”

This niyama is about mastering the art of feeling at ease and at peace with yourself. Santosha challenges us to find peace in the moment—to accept and appreciate what is, no matter what that looks like. It’s about looking inward for a sense of fulfillment and trusting that you have everything you need. Santosha invites us into contentment by taking refuge in the calm, still place within, which is always available to us, no matter what life brings. It also asks us to open our hearts to gratitude for what we do have and make peace with our stories, exactly as they are. A #meditation practice helps tremendously to develop and deeply connect with this principle. .
