If you are interested in python, this podcast seems to be rich in good interviews.
+Kay Hayen  is a systems engineer from Germany who has dedicated his spare time to the creation of Nuitka, a library that will compile your Python project to C++. In this episode we talked to Kay about what inspired him to create the project, how it operates, and some of the challenges he has faced. It is a very interesting project and it has the potential to let you run your Python code in a whole new way!

I am looking for a library providing basic dialogs (questions, selections, etc) but providing a set of backends (readline, GTK, ...).  Something like debconf has in Debian world where DEBIAN_FRONTEND could go from noninteractive (assuming default answers) to readline in terminal to GTK dialogs etc.  Unfortunately on a quick search I have found none such, but I bet there must be some (now or later to come ;))!

http://codesearch.debian.net just got beefed up and now is simply amazing! Great job Michael!
As many of you might know -- Debian is the largest and one of the oldest GNU/Linux distributions which integrates over 30,000 software projects into a turnkey operating system.  codesearch.d.n provides nearly immediate search results over this vast collection of code base. I find it using more and more often, e.g. to find the exact line of code (and thus identify a piece of software and better understand the cause at times) which pukes into my face ugly error messages  without identifying itself.

Don't  do "sudo cp /etc/fail2ban/jail.conf /etc/fail2ban/jail.local".  Use .local file only for the customizations, not for duplicating possible bugs and forbidding their automagic fixing with next uploads
How to Install and Use Fail2ban: http://bit.ly/1qJnoBR

Fail2ban is a service that can automatically alter your firewall configuration based on a predefined number of unsuccessful login attempts. This will allow your server to respond to illegitimate access attempts without intervention from you.
