"Here, at last."

Finally a "new" work from me :)

While the design is nothing but new, it got tweaks to better fit the art style I was going for.

The idea was to reproduce the technique used by Arc system Work on their game Guilty Gear Xrd and Dragon Ball Fighter Z that turns 3D model into very convincing fake 2D.

Of course, because this technique uses a custom shader for it's real time cell shading I couldn't reproduce it into Sketchfab (which doesn't support custom shaders), so I baked everything for the export. But In-Engine, it looks perfect :)

The music, the tone, the dub, the writing.
We're very far away from FE:Fates and that's a good things.

What I love about Nintendo's E3 is that the main question you're asking yourself when thinking about one of their unrevealed game is "How is it gonna play?"
It's not how it will look, what will be the story or what will be the setting, it's what will be the gameplay. And that's interesting, and refreshing from the rest of the production.

Don't get me wrong, I'm super hyped for DMC5 and Cyberpunk 2077 for example, but I already know how it's gonna play.

As for Nintendo, I want to know how Smash 5 will play (more like melee or smash 4 ?), how about this Starfox racing game ? How about the next Fire Emblem, what will the gameplay be like ? Like Fates ? Like Echoes ? something new ?

So, I've studied the anim style 3d render technique of Arc System Works ( guilty gear xrd, dragon ball Z fighter ) and decided to give it a try. It's quite difficult and time consuming but the result is really nice and unique.

This is a work in progress (I need to update my rig) it's also in the viewport of maya and not in Unity so it lacks some visual flair but the final result should be pretty close.

Finally got myself to playing Final Fantasy XV.
And I have to say... it's impressive. It's a game made without any concessions. They had a grand vision for it and went all-in on it without cutting any corner it seems. What they couldn't show they made a movie about it (which is great btw). As for the rest they just...did it. It's grandiose and gigantic, It's also far from flawless mind you but you have to respect the work put behind it all.

Kouseki no Kuni (Land of the Lustrious) is the best use of CG in anime since..forever
It's beautifull, it fits the style perfectly, it enhances everything. Also the story is actually great, which helps.
