Famous Yamashiro Hollywood. Here for a family function and was really impressed with the soul burgers. The staff is extremely friendly and happy to share stories with you about the history of the building, as well as encourage you to explore the haunted upstairs. Be sure to check out the photos on the wall and see how many famous visitors you can identify

I was there with my fiancee tonight for his birthday! At first, I wasn't too impressed with the casual attire, especially after doing my research about "best restaurants with a view in LA", and reading about the "dresscode"..(I was looking forward to a "special" dinner). However, our waiter was Super Friendly, polite and efficient!! The decor and food were Amazing! Also, when I originally made the reservations on line, I simply put in the message box "birthday",I was so Surprised to see a small gesture of Dessert among with a recognition that there was a birthday celebration in our table once we were finished with out dinner-without me having to "secretly" mention it once we were there! Overall, I'm so please on how that small detail was noticed on a simple reservation on line that I would DEFINITELY recommend it to a friend! It Truly made our evening not only Special, but Memorable!

I loved the feel of this restaurant. The atmosphere and views were amazing. The meals are okay however, I could not help but want more. I really wish i did not see graffiti in the bathroom stalls but eh, what can you do? People will always be trashy. The service was excellent. Overall a very good experience. I highly recommend it!

I've lived in LA for more than 20 years and this is the nicest restaurant I've ever been to. Save it for a special occasion, worth it. Every detail about this place is gorgeous and crafted. The floors, gardens, even handles are gorgeous. A+ for ambiance and decor. I believe it was someone's old mansion. The views.... Wow. You literally see the whole city from your seat. It's breathtaking The food was good. Pricey but that's what fine dining is I will never forget coming here

Reservations (-1 star) – This place has a policy that requires you to make dining reservations by placing a credit card on file for large parties of 6 or more. I am not a big fan of this practice and regardless if you book through Open Table or make a phone reservation they require it. They do have in their fine print that last minute cancellations/no shows may lead in a charge… Valet (-1 star) - It’s mandatory and its $9. They were extremely nice BUT if you are leaving with a large party it may take a while to get everyone’s car. The other alternative is to park in the residential areas and hike, but its Hollywood and signs are weird so I wouldn’t risk it. Location (+1 star)- Getting here is kind of tricky and it’s certainly away from the busy Hollywood streets. When you arrive you really do feel like you are transported into a different era. It’s truly a grandiose compound! Views (+2 stars) - The venue is LOVELY. I mean decadent with a garden and ornate décor. The views overlooking LA is breathtaking especially at night when it seems like the whole city is twinkling. There are TONS of great photo ops here for ppl who love to take picks (both in the restaurant and around). Food (+1 star) - Pricey yet delicious! I went with an indistinct sushi roll which was very tasty. Everyone in our party enjoyed their meals. It certainly carters to a diverse taste which offer loads to choose from depending on your taste.

Yamashiro's has been around for a while, and it is a great place for tourists and locals alike to eat. The food is very good, and though the prices are a bit high, you don't do this everyday. THE VIEWS are amazing!!! You can see all of L.A. and Hollywood. It's a beautiful spot!
