Yamashiro is a beautiful restaurant both inside and out along with a spectacular food - even though the food isn't as good as the looks. I had the 'Darth Vader' roll which is a black rice roll which looked cool but the taste was fairly normal. The crunchy rice was probably a better bet. The drinks too were a little shaky. The saketini was a little light while another spicier concoction was too spicy. My friend had a meat and potatoes dish that looked cool as well but the end result was fairly bland. For a romantic evening, it's a definite recommendation. Be sure to get a window view to see all of LA as you can walk around the interior whenever you want. Parking-wise, there is a valet service as you come up the hill next to the Magic Castle.

There is nothing like the atmosphere at Yamashiro. Situated high up on a hill, there is a panoramic view of LA from every window of the restaurant. The food was carefully prepared and the menu is unique. This would be an excellent location to bring a date!

Very nice and friendly, beautiful garden and view of the city. Lobster and Shrimp entrees were delicious! Made reservations for a birthday, i didnt even have to remind them about dessert at the end, they brought it out. Cant wait to go again.

Two of my friends and I decided to go to somewhere fancy shmancy the last we can actually meet up with each other before going back to school. When we go here, we were serious stunned by the view of the restaurant because you can see the entire city. You can also see a big sign that says trailer park too loool. There's also a small Japanese "garden" in the middle of the restaurant which is nice too. Anyways the service was very good and the food was decent. It didn't taste amazing, but it was definitely better than any other Japanese restaurant I have been to. We ordered two orders of sashimi, an order of poke, and an order of hamachi. The sashimi was very meaty and tasted fresh. The yellowtail was all right ... Didn't know why it tasted warm and that kinda bothered me. But oh man the poke was like the best I have ever had. Seriously if I were to come back ... I would definitely order a lot of the poke! Overall the experience was awesome ! And this place is definitely worth a try if you're taking someone out on a date or something

This place is amazing. It is very pricey so I can't go as much as I want to but it is fantastic. Yamashiro is classy and is great to bring a date you want to impress :) The view is beautiful , feels like you are eating in a whole different territory . Love the managers there as well, never met one that wasn't helpful and friendly.

Waiter and staff was fast and friendly. Food was delicious but needed a larger portion for the money. Great date spot, don't miss the nice garden and picture spots in front of the restaurant!
