While each challenge is unique, there are three key actions in any transformative leadership role.
Leading change means that you must challenge the “muscle memory” of “we’ve always done it that way.” Here’s how.

Studies show that more and more people are moving to cities. The world’s urban population now stands at 3.7 billion people, and this number is expected to double by 2050. So, if most people are living in cities, how will we all squeeze in? How will we all get around? Traffic congestion in cities is already a problem, but it will only get worse if city planners and agencies don’t do something to fix it soon. Luckily, we’re seeing some new thinking on how to get from Point A to Point B which will transform the future of transportation as we know it.

Join us for a live discussion on future urban mobility trends with moderator James Brasuell, managing director, Planetizen and panelists Joe Averkamp, senior director, technology, policy and technical strategy, Xerox; Donald Shoup, professor of urban planning, UCLA; Robert Puentes, senior fellow and director of The Brookings Institution Infrastructure Initiative; and Susan Zielinski, managing director, SMART, University of Michigan.

Our panelists will have a lively conversation on the current state of mobility, how urbanization is affecting cities and what they can do to embrace the changes, citing examples, giving advice, and pointing out the trends cities should be aware of as they develop their plans for mobility.

Speeding Up the Promise of Big Data Analytics

The Big Data analytics promise is all about plucking insights, knowledge and trends from deep reservoirs of raw data.

But the reality is that massive troves of data are very difficult for commercial and institutional computer systems to collect, sort, manage and analyze in a cost effective and speedy way.
