Not getting your advertised Internet speed? Wireless running slow and you don't know why? It's because getting today's fast Internet speed is more complex than just connecting any kind of router you may have lying around. Our amazing Daniel Linford has created a post to assist you in getting the fastest speeds possible out of your home Internet connection. We hope you enjoy it!

Great list! Although I have the 1Gbps service, and my current router claims it can handle it, in real-world use the CPU on the router maxes out when I hit 250Mbps. I'm saving up for a Ubiquiti ER-8. newegg.com - Ubiquiti EdgeRouter ER-8 Router 1 x RJ45 WAN Ports 8 x 10/100/1000Mbps LAN Ports

Awesome product and service! I switched our company from Gmail to Zimbra through XMission because of the their stellar support services. Their staff made our transition easy and seamless and now I have no more email issues and especially no more headaches. Life is Good!

I'm a Unix and Hadoop admin by trade and in my professional life, I'm used to writing and submitting RFQs for north of half a million dollars. At home, I run a Zimbra ZCS Open Source server for 14 users, all friends and family. I recently decided to deploy Zimbra Mobile Plus on my ZCS server, representing a total purchase of a bit less than $500. In an industry with ridiculously slim margins, that probably means less than $30, before taxes, in commissions to the poor guy (John Webster) who handled my order. XMission didn't take me out for dinner or send me to a an NFL game, but in every other way they treated me like "a big boy". These guys are awesome!

I've dealt with xmission far more than I'd care to admit over the last 10 years, in varying capacities. A few of them being: an ISP customer, a webmaster and developer with clients using xmission hosting (including a non-profit utilizing xmission's special offerings for non-profits), an IT guy for a company with hosting and Zimbra email through them, and a few others. Overall, all my experiences have ended up boiling down to the same few points: 1. The products are good. Most of the time. 2. The products are reliable. Most of the time. 3. They give you tools to manage your products with them. Sometimes (admittedly more-so now than even a few years ago). Undoubtedly, though, they do have the best customer service you'll find in the industry. That's a great thing too, because you'll be dealing with them a lot to fix quirky bugs on their end, or to make petty account or setting changes that any of their competitors have automated or provided user tools for. So yes, they have fantastic customer service (I know many of them by name now), but I've never dealt with another company where I've been required to contact CS anywhere near as often. I've been with some of their competitors for 10 years and have contacted CS once or twice. With xmission, you can't hardly make a minor change without either having to go through them to make the change, or to call them when it breaks. So for me, and in my various experience with them, xmission is a bit of a paradox. Excellent customer service, but you'll be dealing with them A LOT. Ironically, writing this review reminded me of an outstanding bug in their system -- a result of them porting a client's account to a different server -- that I need to get in touch with them about...

Thanks for the thorough review, Mike. We are putting some new tools in place in 2017 that should address many of your CS concerns. In the meantime, we appreciate your business and patience as we work through some growing pains.

We've been using XMission as our ZImbra re seller for a few years, mainly for license renewals and upgrade quotes. They've always been prompt and helpful. Not to mention tech savvy. Great place to deal with.

Whatever you do, don't get their TV service (called Yondoo). We use (used) Xmission as our ISP and for TV. In the three months we have had it, it has worked less than 25% of the time. They tried replacing the set top box and that seem to work for a while. The most recent time when I called to get support they said they no longer support their own service and I would have to call another company. When I called the number they gave me, the person didn't speak English and he couldn't fix it. After talking to other people, I gather that this is a common problem with their TV service. Other than having to constantly reconnect, their internet service seems decent, but stay away from their Yondoo TV service.

Hi Del, We apologize for your poor experience with yondoo, our former television provider on UTOPIA. You are correct that XMission no longer has the ability to offer Tier 1 support for yondoo due to licensing restrictions. These restrictions specified that yondoo could not sell services through XMission, so all of our television sales and support calls are now handled solely by yondoo. As a current yondoo referral agent, XMission will gladly pass along your feedback to yondoo. However, since XMission cannot control yondoo's quality of service, we hope that you will reconsider your initial rating of XMIssion and rate yondoo instead. As you kindly pointed out, XMission's Internet service has worked well for you. We feel very sorry to lose your business and hope that we can earn back your trust in the future. Thank you.
