In short, don't buy any fully loaded devices with Kodi installed. However it is advertised, it's not legal and you should not buy any of those.

‘Pirate’ Android TV Box Sellers Raided By Police - While paying subscriptions to services such as Netflix, premium satellite and cable channels, sports broadcasters and PPV outlets are legitimate ways to obtain content on a TV, there are others that require very little outlay. Apple TV boxes, Android set-top boxes and even the lowly Raspberry PI can run software such as Kodi (previously XBMC) alongside third-party addons to provide all of the above at virtually zero cos... http://ow.ly/2ZQPZt
Sellers of Android boxes loaded with software enabling the free viewing of movies, TV shows and live sports have been raided this week by UK authorities. Trading Standards officers, police and representatives from Sky TV carried out raids in several locations, causing other sellers to quickly reconsider the tone of their marketing efforts.

Nice and shiny. Our new Official remote with all the basic functions. On top of that it's fully open source.
We are happy to announce that once again we have a fully working Android remote. As you may had noticed, our previous Android remote wasn't updated for a while and as such didn't work any more due to code changes we've done over time. One of our team members who developed it back then, ...

I love the remote, we use it extensively! However, I do think it's layout could be improved a bit. Yatsy is still a bit better in that regard. But, that said - I still use kore more often anyway. Good work.

We've hit a slight delay regarding the "official" release of the 15.0 beta 2 version. Due to recent changes a small problem showed up in handling the library upgrade code which had been lurking for several years. Before we do the official version we will first have to resolve this properly to prevent any future problems. Should you already be running a 15.0 alpha or previous beta version you should be safe to upgrade to our nightly builds that will become the official release. You can find the download link on our one and only Kodi website http://kodi.tv/download/#devbuilds and look for "nightly".
We'll of course keep you posted on any changes on Facebook and other channels.
Kodi is available as a native application for Android, Linux, Mac OS X, iOS (iDevices and Apple TV 2), and Windows operating systems, running on most common processor architectures. A small overview of the features can be found on our about page. For each platform, we offer a stable and ...

For more infos read: http://openelec.tv/news/22-releases/164-beta-openelec-6-0-beta-1-released

The OpenELEC team is proud to announce its 1st Beta of OpenELEC 6.0.
Internally this will be known by the less-catchy name OpenELEC 5.95.1.
The OpenELEC 5.95 release series are test releases (beta) for OpenELEC-6.0.
OpenELEC-6.0 will be the next stable release, which is a feature release and the successor of OpenELEC-5.0.

The most visible change is the update from Kodi-14.2 Helix to Kodi-15.0 Isengard (beta 1). Beginning with Kodi-15 most audioencoder, audiodecoder, PVR and visualisation addons are not more included in our base OS, but they are avaible via Kodi's addon manager and must be installed from there if needed. Our own PVR backends like VDR and TVHeadend will install needed dependencies automatically. Other then that please refer to http://kodi.tv/kodi-15-0-isengard-beta-1/ to see all the changes in Kodi-15.

Here's the long promised 15.0 beta 2. After some delay it's bigger and better than before...  http://kodi.tv/kodi-15-0-isengard-beta-2/
Here it is, the second beta build for Kodi 15.0; freshly baked and ready to be served! A little later than originally planned though, which we'll explain later. Although we said that Kodi 15.0 a “clean-up” edition, we still managed to squeeze in a couple of really nice features.

Here's a short video showcase on a future feature: UPnP Library Integration and Media Importing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aga6XuLFuJ4
This feature creates a mesh network of several Kodi installation which will share watched status. A beta version can be downloaded for you to try out on several devices. Be aware that this is still under heavy development. More detailed information is available on our forum
