Went with my family out to the Rockies last week. We were lucky enough to see what a few locals say were the best fall colors in many years.

+Toby Harriman has one or two (million) more followers than I do, but had to reshare this :)

Photo Spots / Guides
Have any of you heard of +ShutterGuides? I have been using it for a while now, I even helped out one summer with a few design elements for the site. +Tim Gupta and +Wyatt Walter are pretty busy, but the two of them have been behind this small project. The most recent updates though have made it much easier to use and better on the mobile side and the site is now fully responsive! But the one thing it lacks is lots and lots of guides and spots.

So to make my experience better I would like to see what you guys could put together for your area!

Why'd you have to go and make things so complicated?

I need to just start ordering lens caps in bulk. Where do these things go?

+Rawb Aagaard - I am thinking about doing that. I have used others' cameras in the past with them on, and felt like they were a bit too bulky, but perhaps it is worth it..

Comparing Yourself with Others
A friend and coworker shared this video with me today. It's something that I've struggled with in various ways for quite some time. My watching of this video is also timely for me as I am traveling back home from a conference, led by thought leaders in my f...

Free, works grate fine!

This paper was taped to a tv on the curb near my house and I couldn't pass by without capturing. The graet part was it was dark enough that I didn't notice the misspelling of "great" until I got home and looked at the photo to upload. :)

I wonder.. is Amazon Mechanical Turk an acceptable solution to #monitoringsucks ? So far it's the best I've come up with.. Sigh.

A quick upload from my outing tonight in Sioux Falls. It's always funny to me how no matter what I do to plan, I usually find my favorite vantage points by accident. This time we found it while driving through a parking lot trying to find a good vantage point for a building in exactly the opposite direction (which didn't work out very well anyway).

I hope to have a few 'stupid' ideas myself :)

What a stupid idea. "For some cruel reason, I keep finding myself in the position of being introduced to things in their infancy (often before they are even launched), dismissing them as stupid, and then watching them become unbelievably popular. [...] I'm not sure if there's any lesson here other than a warning against arrogance, but I have two stories to share."
