What is Nature’s Role in Life?
Hannah Li, Division 1, 5th grade #ws17e-s3d1

Plants play an important role among all the elements that nature has to offer mankind. They get energy from the sun, water from the soil, and turn them miraculously into oxygen for us to inhale. Without plants there is no oxygen, causing the human race to vanish. Plants provide other essential rudiments for people to live on Earth.

First of all, plants absorb the toxins in the air, providing a safe and serene environment for all living creatures. Plants can lower people’s blood pressure and calm their heart rate when they are in distress. At the same time, research indicates that indoor plants have the healing power of relaxing a person’s attention muscles. They help to recharge and refresh the muscles. In turn, plants help people to release their stress, allowing them to focus on their tasks and be more productive, both at home and at work.

Furthermore, air pollution leads to various diseases that harm people. With an abundance of growing plants and trees near these polluted areas, they will help better the air quality and decrease the air pollution. The shade of these plants will aid in decreasing heat and prevent the drying up of moisture in the soil.

Plants in the form of fruits and vegetables produce protein, vitamins, and more nutrients that are essential for human consumption. In order to stay healthy, people need to have 80% of vegetables in their meal. Eggplants, broccoli, and cauliflower are the some of the most common vegetables served with a meal. Fruit trees produce juicy and delicious harvest, giving us fruits that come in an array of brilliant colors. Blueberry and strawberry bushes yield lots of sweet berries for us to devour. Together they can serve up a delightful meal or side dishes.

Plants give us food and oxygen. They help us to relax and decrease pollution in the air. Besides that, Mother Nature constantly supplies humanity with numerous necessary elements for survival. We, the human race, need to come together and give thanks to Mother Nature and take good care of her.
