Colorado's Paradox Sports reflects on the life of USMC veteran Dan Sidles, who climbed Nepal's Lobuche East in October 2010 with World T.E.A.M. Sports as a member of the Soldiers to the Summit Nepal Expedition. He sadly took his own life earlier this month. Online: http://paradoxsports.org/remembering-dan-sidles/
The Paradox community is deeply saddened by the news that friend, climber, and veteran, Dan Sidles, took his own life earlier this month. World T.E.A.M. Sports Face of America alumni Will Terry is planning on a solo bicycle journey in 2017. He is riding 2,200 miles through many of America's largest cities to raise public awareness of the challenges military veterans face daily, and the losses our nation is seeing through suicide by veterans. He reports his "end goal is to build a retreat for veterans and their families to recover and also to help with prevention. This will be a safe place away from the world but approved by the military as a place for R&R for soldiers coming from heavy combat-related trauma."
Will is starting his ride in Newark, Delaware and ending at the World Trade Center in New York City.

Help support Will in his journey: https://www.crowdrise.com/donate-22
Donate $22 & 22 Minutes to raise awareness for the 22 Veterans that commit suicide daily. Let's do our part and not overlook our "Heroes"

Sarah Bell, World TEAM Sports Director of Advancement and Orlando resident, joined the closing ceremonies of the Invictus Games last night at Disney's ESPN Wide World of Sports. Hosted by ESPN's Jeremy Schaap, with musical appearances from Phillip Phillips, Rachel Platten, Rascal Flatts and Flo Rida, and special guest appearances from Second Lady Dr. Jill Biden, WWE's John Cena, and actor Wilmer Valderamma, the 485 athletes from 14 countries celebrated their achievements, camaraderie and teamwork. From the closing remarks of Prince Harry: “...what inspired me was the courage to make it to the starting line, to take to the field or to dive into that pool, motivated by the goal of giving your all – medal or no medal.” World T.E.A.M. Sports proudly recognizes Canada's Michael Cotts and Denmark's Jens Sondergaard -- Face of America and Adventure Team Challenge participants -- for their remarkable sportsmanship, teamwork and talent. Congratulations to all competitors. ‪#‎Invictus‬.

World T.E.A.M. Sports' annual Face of America bicycle and hand cycle ride to Gettysburg depends on Penske Truck Rentals to transport bikes, gear and participant overnight bags. They are a great partner for our non-profit organization, and provide trucks for many of our events nationally. ‪#‎2016FOA‬ ‪#‎weallridethesameroad‬

Changing Lives through Sports
Introduction
World T.E.A.M. Sports is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization chartered in North Carolina and headquartered in Holbrook, New York. For more than twenty years, World T.E.A.M. Sports has organized all kinds of athletic events for disabled and able bodied citizens – mountain climbing, white water rafting, biking, and more.

Since 1993, we have used athletics to challenge disabled men, women and children to accomplish goals they never thought possible. In all our events – whether mountain climbing, biking, white water rafting or many other sports – we include both disabled and able-bodied participants.

Four things always happen at our events:

• Disabled participants build self confidence and physical fitness.

• The disabled provide a role model for other disabled citizens, encouraging them to take up physical activities.

• The disabled become a moving inspiration to other participants and to spectators when they see that disabled individuals can meet challenges beyond anyone’s imagination.

• The disabled and able-bodied participants learn to work as a team to overcome those challenges.

We change lives through sports.
