Here at World of Music, customer satisfaction is our highest priority. We buy, sell, trade, and consign all kinds of musical instruments, and have a huge music school! As Erie’s largest music store, we’re big enough to carry the items you need. As a family-owned business since 1954, we have the personal atmosphere and level of service that’s hard to find these days.

We invite you to drop by, get to know us better, and browse our website. Of course, we hope you'll call or stop in if we can answer any questions about our services or that special item you're looking for. We hope to see you soon!

Had a great time. Im not going to say that I didn't see the sales tactics... they were there, but seriously...it is there job. That said, I had a great experience. It wasn't like other places (eh em...Guitar Center) where they treat you like royalty until they know that all your doing is "looking" in which case your chopped liver. My guide to finding my new guitar was a man named Rome Caccamo. Fantastic customer service. I was there for nearly 3 hours playing numerous guitars and he was helpful and patient all the way. Also, they gave me a good deal on two items, a Earnie Ball Music Man Axis and a Yamaha Piano. Very happy!!

Absolutely great place to shop and try out gear. I have been a loyal fan of World Of Music for nearly 20 years now. The staff are awesome, when I come in (regardless if I buy or not) I am treated with respect and courtesy. After reading some of the negative reviews on here it seems like those reviewers are just upset they didn't get "their" way. I have never had a rude staff, my trade in values have always been fair or better and there selection of instruments is always great. They will work with you in a multitude of ways in order to get you what you want and help you out with payments, layaway etc. It's stores like this that deserve our support not your local mega-mart guitar center (shift labor employees and techs that have no technical experience). World of music's sales staff are outstanding and Tom (guitar tech) is the only guy that I will trust my babies too when I am not able to perform the service myself. Browsing or buying, these guys will go the extra mile to help you out. Just to note a reference from a previous review The expensive guitars are on the higher racks for a reason, would you want your child to grab your 3k+ PRS from the wall and drop it? No I don't think so. Want to play a specific guitar? Just ask. I couldn't tell you how many times I have had Mark, Adam, Rome or one of the other guys grab me down and Axe so I could jam out. Never once has anyone told me no. I truly hope this local treasure is around as long as me, simply great place to shop.

Our family has been going to World of Music for decades. Our 3 children took music lessons there for years. All their teachers were extremely encouraging and gave them an interest in music that will last them for their lifetimes. I make it a point to purchase any musical equipment from WOM. Not only do you get to try the instruments, etc., hands-on, but their staff is so musically expert that their personal opinions are ultimately the reason for purchase. We will always use World of Music for our musical needs. Thank You. M. Trott and Family.

Thanks for taking the time to write! One of the biggest rewards in our business is seeing generations grow up with music and getting to know entire families who play. We truly appreciate your loyalty, from our family to yours! Thanks.

I've done business with World of Music for years. I am a drummer who's played in many local bands. I've purchased drums, percussion instruments, guitars, and a considerable amount of pro audio gear from World of Music. The staff at World of Music always does whatever it takes to help me. They work with me, and that's what counts. I also find their pricing to be competitive with mail order companies. Overall, I would highly recommend the World of Music.

The largest instrument store that Erie has to offer... and for good reason. They have a great selection of instruments (especially guitars). Do they have everything?.. of course not but, they have an amazing selection, for a store in a city that's the size of Erie. The prices are competitive and reasonable. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, as well. If that's not enough, they have a music school that has over 20 teachers, with the combined capabilities to teach just about any instrument that you could think of. Absolutely, a "local store", worth supporting!

Thanks, Mike! We do our best to get what people here want and what our students need! Plus, we can often order products. Then, if you ever have an issue we can take care of you. :) See you soon!

Worst customer service and knowledge about products is lame. Don't go here or if you do keep your hand on your purse or wallet it's as bad as a used car lot.

The only actual music store in all of Erie. They don't carry Gibsons unless someone brings in a used one, they keep all of the guitars worth playing 13 feet in the air, and there is one member of the staff named Mark, I believe. He has been the Bane of my existence for the last few years. They keep all of their CF Martins in a seperate room and he guards those things like they were his children. I'm a loyal customer (kind of forced to be) I've never caused any fuss at that store and yet he will not let me within 10 feet of the coveted Martin room. The other staff couldn't be any less helpful, either. The only ones who actually walk around and make sure everyone's finding what they need are Mark and Adam Salaga, and I'm giving you his last name because he is the single saving grace for that store. Whenever I buy anything there, I buy it through Adam. There was one other guy I really liked but he had the brains to quit. All of the staff are just plain rude. I remember asking if they carried pickups for electric guitars (which they don't) and this staff lady looked at me and said "I dunno, what do I look like, a damn guitar expert?" Bottom line, we need a Guitar Center. Rude staff, some pretty awful guitars, small selection...

Hi Colin! Thanks for taking the time to write a review. We appreciate your business and are excited to carry Gibson, as well as Taylor, Fender, PRS, Martin, and other top brands. While we strive to hand-pick a wide selection of instruments, we hope you'll let us know what you'd like so we can offer you customized and/or special order options. Many of our high-end acoustic guitars are displayed in a humidified room, per the manufacturer's requirements and to correctly maintain the instrument. We'd be happy to show you around anytime. Thanks!
