"How rich a treasure we possess, in Jesus Christ our Lord
His blood our ransom and defense His glory our reward
The sum of all created things are worthless in compare
For our inheritance is Him whose praise angels declare
How free and costly was the love, displayed upon the cross
While we were dead in untold sin the Sovereign purchased us
The will of God the Father demonstrated through the Son
The Spirit seals the greatest work the work which Christ has done
How vast and measureless the flood of mercy unrestrained
The penalty was paid in full the spotless Lamb was slain
Salvation, what a priceless gift received by grace through faith
We stand in robes of righteousness we stand in Jesus’ name
For Yours’ is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory
Yours’ is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory
Yours’ is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory
Yours’ is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory;
Amen, amen, amen"

See the update below from Matt Jantz who is currently serving alongside our church plants in Albania:

"God has been working powerfully lately. One of the girls who has been attending the church for a few months has professed faith in Christ this week. Praise God! Also I am seeing the Spirit work in the lives of the believers in the church to desire to become a more healthy church. We are having many great conversations about what a healthy church looks like. For example, seeing their desire to participate in the Lord's Supper since this has not been practiced at the church until now. Also we are talking about doing our first baptisms in the coming month or 2 since some have mentioned their desire to be baptized. Many exciting things. Keep praying that God will continue to give Disciples Church a desire to know God and follow His Word."

Praise God for His work in Albania! Please continue to pray for Matt and safe travels back to the States in two weeks, and that the gospel continues to spread by the faithful preaching of God's Word.

On May 10th, we will begin a mini-sermon series on “The Ten Commandments.” Our focus will be on how these 10 commands from God given so long ago point us to the greatness and glory of Jesus Christ and his Gospel. We invite you to join us for this series as we gather each Sunday morning to worship the God who saves. #10commandments   #WoodridgeCC   #community

Pastor Luke preaching out of #Exodus 12:43-13:16 this morning on remembering:

"The Passover is so important that God resets Israel's calendar so it starts with the Passover. God wants Israel to remember what happened and never forget it."

"Each element of the Passover meal had significance. It was designed for a reason - to remind Israel
1. A Lamb - the lamb died instead of them - this points them forward to Christ being our sacrificial lamb dying in our place (1st Peter 1:18-29).
2. Unleavened bread - this was told to Israel so that they were ready to leave in the middle of the night " be ready" - pointing to the faith that would save them as they believe God is going to rescue them quickly. In the same fashion, the Lord's supper is also taken in faith.
3. Consecration of the first born - sacrificing the first born of animals to remember that God passed over Israel and killed the first born of Egypt instead of their first born of Israel showing foreshadowing of the substitutionary atonement of Christ(Exodus 13:14-15)."

"We are called to remember every Sunday when we sit down in church. The Bible reminds us who God is and what he has done for us in the gospel of Jesus Christ. We forget too easily, and need to be reminded just like Israel needed to be reminded about the exodus. "

The book of Exodus has been called “the Gospel of the Old Testament” because one of it’s central themes is how God works to redeem a people from bondage so that they are free to know, serve and worship him. As we study through this important and awesome Old Testament book of the Bible we’ll find countless stories and events that point us to Jesus Christ who redeems us from our bondage to sin so that we can know, serve and worship him. As we work our way through Exodus we will continually encounter the God who makes himself known to sinners and we will be given helpful examples of what it looks to trust in and follow after Jesus Christ. May the Holy Spirit work mightily through Christ’s church as we gather together to hear and learn from the book of Exodus.
