On my quest to put the lesser-known gems of Belgium in the spotlight, I asked nine other Belgian bloggers to share which places they think deserve a bit more attention.

This is what they said.

Aruba has warm weather all year round, but that doesn’t mean you should only pack your bikini. Here’s my packing list for one week on the island

Planning a vacation to Aruba? Great! It's warm all-year-round, but you do need more than just your bikini. Here's what I packed for a week on the island.

If you think Aruba is only about getting a tan, you’re greatly mistaken. I already mentioned the amazing restaurants on the island, but there are also plenty of active things to do on Aruba to work off those delicious meals!

One of Prague’s must-see neighborhoods is Josefov, the old Jewish Quarter in the north of the Old Town. Mom and I had planned to simply wander around the area while we were in Prague, but when we spotted the first synagogue, we decided to buy a ticket that would allow us entrance to many of the monuments in the neighborhood and we spent about an hour or two immersing ourselves in Jewish history, culture and architecture.

A whole casita to myself, including patio and bbq, that’s what I had at the Boardwalk Hotel in Aruba. I’m happy we spent a couple of nights there!

Looking for a fun hotel in Aruba? The Boardwalk Hotel Aruba is unlike any of the high-rises you'll find in Palm Beach, with colorful casitas, barbecues ...

Introduction
Hi there, and welcome to WonderfulWanderings.com!

I used to have a stable, predictable career and lead a comfortable life. After earning a master’s degree in Western Literature and another one in Cultural Management, I quickly found a job at the Belgian press agency Belga. When my contract there ended, I moved on to publishing house Indicator where I worked as a copywriter and marketing coordinator… until I quit my job.

I realized security and certainty weren’t enough. I needed to create my own path and follow my passions. This blog is about finding out where those take me by exploring my home country Belgium and the rest of the world while I’m at it.

If there is something you want so badly that you’d take a risk – a real risk – to get it, then I ask you to join me. If you have a dream, vague but ever growing, then I hope to inspire you.

Let’s go on this quest together.

SO, WHERE ARE WE GOING?

We start our quest in Belgium, my home country but at the same time a travel destination for millions of people each year and a new home to yet others. What brings them here? Are they seeing all they should see? Are they experiencing all they can? I want to introduce Belgium to the world and show it all that this little country has to offer. Belgium is chocolate and Brussels, yes, but it’s also much more than that.

It’s nature, history, culture, heritage… and a whole lot of sweets.

At the same time I want to question Belgium. It’s my home country, but not by choice. I like living here, but I haven’t tried anywhere else. There are so many other countries to explore, so many different lifestyles and cultures. What if another one would suit me better? What if another one would suit you better? Taking a look doesn’t hurt, now does it?

Plus, Belgians go on vacation too, so we might as well show them where to go.

Right.

Wonderful Wanderings isn’t just about introducing Belgium to the world and the world to Belgium though. It’s about mixing them up and taking the best of both. It’s about having the world in Belgium and taking a bit of Belgium with me each time I travel.

But most importantly, it’s about sharing both with you so that you can figure out where your travels should lead you and start your own quest.

Are you ready?
