We've been taking our little Maltese cross, Rogue to the Wizard Of Paws for about 4 years now. We know our little dog can be a handful and isn't particularly fond of being groomed, but she always comes home from Wizard of Paws very well groomed and in good spirits. The staff are always super friendly and seem to genuinely love animals.

My husband and I absoloutely LOVE this place! We have a three year old King Charles/Cocker Mix who can be a little difficult to deal with. They always do a fantastic job and welcome him with open arms! I especially love that the dogs are able to run around with all of the other dogs and aren't kept kenneled:)

Wizard of Paws is the only place we take our pomeranian mix and he often gets comments about how handsome he is! It's not quite the same without Brianne, but still the best priced, easiest to get an appointment and I love that they donate time, services and money to dogs in need by providing grooming to Angels Under Our Wings cocker spaniel rescue!

I took my dog here for grooming about 3 months ago. He came out covered in blood from a cut on his tongue, which may have been understandable because he has no teeth and his tongue is permanently out. However, the clippers run over his dew claw, which had been glued back on, not so understandable. Neither were the cuts in one ear, on his back and on his belly. If he was too squirmy for them, I wish they had just left him, because now I can't take him to any groomer because he is too terrified.

I am very sorry to hear about this, I was not aware of such an incident. However, it has been remedied and the staff member responsible has been removed.

I've taken my King Charles Cavalier to Wizard Of Paws twice now. Am very happy with the service we recieved. I get more nervous when Maggie gets her hair cut then when *I* get my hair cut, but each time i've picked her up she looks great. I tend to get Magige's hair much shorter then a typical cavalier, becasue she loves the beaches...rolling around in the mud and muck and sand and ocean... its more pratical. They've listned to my likes/dislikes and offered suggestions. Their store is always clean and beautiful looking (and i think that is important..it gives off a certian feel when you walk in the door.) I like that they don't hold the dog's in kennel like cages that i see at other groomers. Friendly happy owner and staff, and when i pick maggie up i can tell she had fun because she isnt bouncing off the wall to get to me :D

I have taken my teacup-sized Papillon (Tillie) twice to Wizard of Paws and have been extremely happy with the experience both times and would be very reluctant to take her anywhere else, and will be returning in the near future! I like the relaxed vibe of the place and think that translates to the dogs as well. The staff are real "dog people" and I appreciate the "no kennel drying" approach. Both times when I have picked up Tillie, she (and other dogs) have been sitting quietly in the play pen area awaiting pickup and have been attended by staff quickly for check out. I find the pricing very reasonable, the staff professional and loving to the animals, and will be "off to see the Wizard" again soon!

They shaved my puppy without my permission! I asked for a 2 inch haircut and my dog was returned to me bald. I have a Shih Tzu and he came out looking like an ugly poodle! The staff were confrontational and defensive when I questioned what had happened. I strongly recommend not taking your pet to this salon. I could of shaved my dog at home and it would not have cost me $50!

We are sorry your dog had to be shaved - unfortunately when pets are matted this is the only safe way to deal with it. We try to inform clients as much as possible regarding the condition of the hair and what has to be done but sometimes it is difficult to judge the severity of the matting until we begin the grooming process. I can assure you we do a lot of 2" and longer cuts (puppy cuts and hand scissors) but when the hair is not in good enough condition this simply is not safe or possible. Unfortunately this was the case with your dog.

I have taken my cocker spaniel to Wizard of Paws twice now. The atmosphere of the place is one of calm competence. The way in which the owner/groomers interact with the dogs tells you that they are experienced "dog people." My dog is an "easy groom" but not totally well socialized with other dogs so I hung around just taking in the vibe before leaving her there. She has come home clean, happy and beautifully groomed (exactly the way I asked) -- not in the least stressed -- and with a bonus $5 teeth cleaning, the bill is still way less than I've previously paid. Bravo ladies -- keep up the good work!

Thank you so much for this review! It is always a pleasure serving you and of course sweet miss Coco. I encourage everyone to check out www.angelsunderourwings.com - an amazing rescue organization here in Victoria that helped this wonderful dog find her perfect forever family.
