There is a great quote about "to lead, follow or get out of the way..." How the utilities across the nation respond to solar will have direct impact on their relevance in the next 10-20 years.
As homemade electricity gains popularity, it puts new pressures on old infrastructure and cuts into electric company revenue, pitting solar companies against utilities.

Financing has not been available so no one is marketing to the sector…or is it the other way around? No one is marketing to the sector so there isn’t deal flow to have investors get excited? We have been dealing with this chicken/egg issue for several years now, as has the rest of the segment. There was pipeline bac...

The #renewable energy sector has been a boon to the #California economy: creating jobs, boosting tax revenue and keeping our citizens healthy. #CleanEnergyRevenge #ProudCalifornian
In 2011, Solyndra, a California-based solar panel manufacturer, defaulted on a $535-million federal loan and went bankrupt. Americans for Prosperity, a group funded by the Koch brothers, spent $6 million on an ad campaign highlighting the company as a symbol of failure. Even th...

Though not spoken very often, the solar industry actually isn't scared about the expiration of the investment tax credit. Duke Energy explains why and what they are doing to get ready for 2017.
Duke and REC Solar target rooftops, parking lots, fields, and community solar.

The numbers don't lie! Distributed solar is becoming a greater source of our energy load. This moves us to a more democratic distribution system and builds local economies.
Originally posted at ilsr.org. The growth of solar has continued at a furious pace, with a new record of 6.2 gigawatts installed in the United States in 2014. But the bigger tale may be the persistent growth of small-scale solar, on residential and non-residential rooftops (and property).  These projects, a megawatt or smaller, contributed 13% of
