The Final Porsche 918 Spyder Has Been Produced

Porsche Centre Winnipeg recently learned that after 21 months of production, the last #Porsche918Spyder was manufactured on June 18th, 2015 in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen. Our customers from #Winnipeg and #Brandon have been asking about this one-of-a-kind model so we’ve decided to do our research and fill them in.
The Porsche 918 Spyder was initially revealed as a concept of a performance hybrid with plug-in technology at the Geneva International Motor Show in 2010. It started to come into fruition later that year. When the 918 Spyder premiered on the market at the end of 2013, it represented a continuation of a number of sports cars in the history of #Porsche.
Its high-performance 4.6-litre, V8 combustion engine combined with two electric motors and its driving profile that’s focused on efficiency and maximum performance serves as a catalyst for future sports cars. The two electric motors featured on every 918 Spyder deliver an impressive combined power output of over 210 kW or 286 hp. This is the highest power output found on any hybrid model currently on the market.
Efficiency-wise, the 918 Spyder is capable of a combined mileage of 3.1 L/100 km or 3.01 L/100 km when paired with the available Weissach package. It can also accelerate from zero to 100 kilometres an hour in only 6.2 seconds!
Aside from incredible performance and efficiency, every 918 Spyder is packed with a wide array of high-tech convenience features. Porsche 918 Spyder drivers can expect two mammoth air intakes, LED headlights, electric and heated door mirrors, power windows, rain-sensing windshield wipers, leather upholstery, and so much more.
The Weissach package is also available for drivers interested in saving about 41 kg on the overall weight of the 918 Spyder. This package comes with ceramic wheel bearings, magnesium wheels, titanium brake parts, and a Carbon Fiber dash, roof, and door trim.
If you’re a Winnipeg or Brandon resident interested in finding out more about the unbelievable Porsche 918 Spyder, take a trip to Porsche Centre Winnipeg today. We’ll be happy to give you more information or schedule a test-drive in one of our exciting Porsche models.

Porsche Hints at the Introduction of a Boxster Spyder GT4

#Winnipeg and #Brandon drivers have only just gotten over the excitement caused by the #2015PorscheBoxsterSpyder, but hearts have been set racing once again by rumors of a #GT4 version. At Porsche Centre Winnipeg, we’re just as intrigued by these alluring reports, so we made it our mission to find out everything we could. (

While the current Porsche Boxster Spyder stands as the ultimate example of this venerable line, #Porsche has begun to make indications that a new champion is on the way. A new ultra-lightweight Boxster was unveiled just weeks ago at the #2015NewYorkAutoShow, and industry experts think they spied a Spyder GT4.

The unveiled model showcases a 3.8L flat-six, the same engine used for the intensely popular #Cayman GT4. A number of typical GT4 components were absent, but that could just be in line with the Spyder’s forceful emphasis on no-nonsense performance.

A Boxster Spyder GT4 will be likely to utilize GT3-inspired adjustable front suspension, a totally unique rear suspension, GT3 brakes, and enhanced aerodynamics, though nothing has been confirmed by Porsche.

The Cayman enjoys similar features, and that’s certainly where Porsche has been taking inspiration, with an insider telling Autoblog that "Much of the engineering has already been done for the Cayman, so we think this might be a good direction for us." We can only sit back and cross our fingers.

Of course, if no new Boxster Spyder is forthcoming, Winnipeg and Brandon drivers won’t be too disappointed — the current model is just too impressive. Engineered to deliver impressive performance without any sacrifices, this is a Roadster par excellence.

Porsche refers to it as “unfiltered,” and that’s certainly a fitting description. Stripped of all unnecessary accessories, this is a vehicle for discerning drivers who need nothing more and nothing less than an unadulterated driving experience. With lightweight construction and a 375-hp 3.8L engine, the Boxster Spyder boasts the capability to blaze from 0 to 100 kph in 4.5 seconds, and it enjoys a top track speed of 290 kph.

The 2015 Boxster Spyder is already a legend, so any GT4 option is sure to evoke an intense reaction. For more information as we receive it, remember to keep checking back with us at Porsche Centre Winnipeg. (
