"Before I had studied Zen for thirty years, I saw mountains as mountains, and waters as waters. When I arrived at a more intimate knowledge, I came to the point where I saw that mountains are not mountains, and waters are not waters. But now that I have got its very substance I am at rest. For it’s just that I see mountains once again as mountains, and waters once again as waters. "

The great comet of 1881, observed on the night of June 25–26th. Plate XI from Étienne Léopold Trouvelot's wonderful Trouvelot Astronomical Drawings (1881). See more imagery of comets, meteors, meteorites and shooting stars through the ages in our post "Flowers of the Sky" — http://buff.ly/2tT5QGG

Playing with maps based on news reports of the #Marawi crisis, south of the #Philippines using the #LokalerEditor beta made for #OpenStreetMap vector data. Check out: https://editor.lokaler.de/

Not the easiest, nor the fastest mapping tool to use out there but there's potential going for it. A similar visualization could have been easily and quickly made in #QGIS, if you have it installed in your computer. And I guess, that's the point they're trying to make, with this browser-based mapping tool.
