Field Day 2016 Preparations are well underway!

I know you guys think I'm on crack, but I was up at 4:15 this morning putting ideas on the spreadsheet. It's fresh on my mind, I better take care of business.

When it comes to space...we really are screwed for quite some time

IF we can't simply get some food and parts for a water filter up into orbit without calling the Russians, we are really screwed for a very, very long time.  They talk about putting a man on Mars by 2035.  I don't think that could happen in my children's lifetime.

An unmanned SpaceX rocket carrying cargo to the International Space Station disintegrated over the Florida coast just two minutes after liftoff Sunday — the third major failure for America's commercial space industry in eight months.

My guess is they are pushing things too fast in that they are trying to build rockets like current software models.

Field Day: poor man's quick deploy two element monoband for 20 meters!

We get ready by hanging our wires and putting up our beams today before field day starts. It is so hot we all started at about 8 AM at our different houses, shops, and garages and came together to hang our antennas around six.
This is Pete, our club president, preparing to raise his poor man's tower.

+David Snyder sorry I missed this.  It was hard to stay "connected" to social media in the mayhem.  We had the laptop running, but we were logging.  I was also the dedicated weather captain.  We had tornado warnings, yes warnings, a lightening storm that knocked our hospital and EMS (sheriff, police, and rescue) radio comms offline.  Our 15 meter operator was also the tech that had to go fix the EMS comms, so +David Witkowski  he did that 200 and was gone for six hours.

You'll find that throughout the northeast, the cities commanding the state legislature.
On a side note there of been plenty of suck ass politicians from the south Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter immediately come to mind.

I used to say "Maybe in retirement" but in all reality, this was a $5000 jump from the 7850.  $5000....

Botino's has just moved from the Rose's Shopping Center at the corner of Hwy 55 and Hwy 117. They are now downtown on North Center Street! The food is great! It's authentic New York style pizza and is family owned and operated. The service is as great as the food! Bring your appetite.

I've been there six times so far. Two times for a warranty issue, three times to get the oil changed, and finally to get some minor body repair done. I have never seen such a well oiled machine as CCOG and their people. They have the answers to your questions. They understand that all situations aren't the same and they react to your needs. Finally, they cleaned my car after a body shop visit better inside and out than I would've done it myself.
