The day we fought back!
Ingress players in Berlin, Germany joined the international protest against mass surveillance in their own way. Agents of both factions built the logo of the campaign https://thedaywefightback.org/
in blue and green fields.
But playing Ingress and being against surveillance, isn’t that a bit contradictory? We think, the small but important difference is: Ingress is voluntarily, the current mass surveillance by the state is not. You can accept to share your location status for playing a game and nevertheless condemn access to this data by the state. While Ingressers are very aware what data they share with corporations like Google, they understand that government spying on this data is a whole other issue and can endanger our basic human rights and the foundation of our democracy.
So together, in a cross faction event, we took a stand against mass spying on the Internet. And we also had a lot of fun. :)+Ingress+Niantic Project+Anne Beuttenmüller+Joe Philley+Brandon Badger+Brian Rose
