For some reason in the latest build of Chrome on Windows 8.1, when I was on the laptop screen 1920x1080 it began doing the DPI scaling which makes the application look like ass.  Surprisingly, you can't control this in chrome://flags HiDPI option.  You must fix this from where you launch Chrome.  Voila, it works.

So, if the dear people at N1MM would like me to port it to Linux then I wouldn't have to do this when I contest.  Windows makes me feel like I'm cheating on the real shack computer.

True, but I'm a creature of habit.  There really isn't a native alternative, almost all the supposed contest loggers for linux are lacking.  Figured free labor for the port versus reverse engineering 100% of it.

Still liking the clean looking UI from #elementaryos  on my shack computer.  Too bad the band died on me before I was able to finish this #jt65  qso.

I've been playing around with Mongo for a bit in some prototyping with Flask.  Good stuff in this update.

In an effort to fix the lack of logbook integration between wsjt-x and CQRLog, I wrote a little console application in python as a proof of concept.

It currently detects changes to frequency based on band switching and transmitting (since frequency isn't logged besides such actions).

It parses only lines that are CQ'ing to save me time waiting for a conversation to end.  It also makes sure that it's not parsing a non-callsign.

It queries my logbook based on callsign, band, and mode (JT65 & JT9 detections).

If it finds my callsign in a received log, it plays a sound on the computer in case I'm writing a social media entry instead of watching the screen.

Anyway, next steps are to try and integrate it with the application a bit better and get a GUI going for it.

Yeah, now that I've downloaded the source for wsjt-x, I might just make myself a custom version that talks directly with CQRLog instead of tailing the log.

I have a couple commercial ones, and I decided for my portable kit I would build one myself.  Looks simple enough, and since I'll only have about $5 invested, if it doesn't pan out I won't be bothered too much.  :-)

When I lived in Land O Lakes, FL, I made Tampa Humidor my go to place for cigars. Their humidor has a huge selection, and prices that I've found hard to beat. Now that I live in Montana, Tampa Humidor is my online supplier for cigars. I have been happy to introduce several of my new friends and co-workers to the website. Price and quality of the product when it hits my door is way better than any other vendor (including much larger ones) that I've experienced. Even the mystery grab bags are great quality! Keep up the awesome job!
