My apartment complex just started towing residents. What GREAT customer service!
A few years ago, I rented an apartment at +Turnberry Isle in Dallas, Texas. It was one of the worst choices I've ever made!

PLEASE help me in standing up to a company who has made my life a living hell.

From Day 1, everything that could go wrong, has. Including:
-- I can only have A/C -OR- Heat. When it starts to get cold, they literally have to "turn on" my heat. Manually. Same thing in the spring to get A/C. I have spent countless nights at a friends' house because it was too hot or too cold for me to live in my own apartment.
-- Various plumbing and maintenance issues. Repeating issues at that. I've had to call in the same issue multiple times.
-- Oh... and I was bit by a DOG who was too big to be living there.
-- Threats to evict me because of THEIR system screwing up. No polite call to say "hey, you've been the perfect tenant. We appreciate that you pay on time every time for YEARS. But something's wrong." Nope! BAM! Slam the hammer first. Then... and only then... did they look to THEIR system for the screw up.
-- When I complained and asked to speak to a regional manager, I got nothing but attitude from her.

Management changed recently to +Gaines Investment Trust, and since then, EVERY act from the company has been inhumane! They don't care about their residents. They strike first and it seems they just... hope no one says anything.

Well, I'm DONE not saying anything.

When I signed my lease, parking was open and available to all. But I pay extra for a garage. Recently, the company issued stickers for parking and changed the rules. You can no longer park anywhere.

The day before I left for Germany, they give me a sticker for my garage. Which does NO good whatsoever. I pay extra for a garage. I DON'T pay extra so that I'm forced to ONLY park in my garage.

I had a load to take into my apartment and was headed back out, so I parked for just a bit in a random spot.

By the time I came back out to the car, it was gone. No notice. No consideration. Just WHACK! They towed my car. And I have NO idea where they took it.

Who knows how many residents here are in the same boat. So it's time we show them it's not okay to treat your residents like crap. People shouldn't be able to get away with this stuff.

A Completely Douchy Story!
If you haven't heard yet, the +Turnberry Isle Apartments, where +Cali Lewis lives (at the moment) had her car towed - from their DOUBLE GATED community last night, which incidentally has PLENTY of parking. It was taken by the DWF VSF, LLC. wrecker company. Now, we can talk about how wrong and inherently evil that is, but the worst part is THE TOW COMPANY WOULDN'T LET HER GET THE CAR!

By Texas law, they MUST be available AT MAXIMUM to release the vehicle within one hour - but DFW VSF, LLC was not answering calls and had no personnel on site to release vehicles for at least 5 hours. A whole group of people were waiting to pick up our vehicles when some guy showed up and acted surprised that noone was there to release them.

Everything about the entire incident is absolutely egregious. The apartment complex towing their paying residents, no signs posted about who is towing or how to get the car back, then after you find out where the car is you can't get it anyway!

Anyone else have a towing nightmare story like this? What do you think should be done about it?

Typical for Dallas area Apartments. I moved to Austin, TX and find that it is the same here. I lived in New Orleans, Nashville, and Denver, and they are required to follow due process by Law, and tag the car for removal and give the owner at least 72 hrs to move it before they can tow. There is no recourse Hearing or Appeals process so your at their mercy which is none. Please call, email,or write your elected Officials to get the Laws in Texas changed to protect Renters, just like it protects the Landlords. #Justice   #Viral   #News   #DFW   #Dallas   #Texas   #WhatWouldYouDo   #Law   #ElectedOfficials

I used cat5 for my mike ect with a cat5 female to female connector I picked up at Office Depot. My 880h came with the head unit cable already in the box.
I'm installing an ICOM 880H in my car. Anyone ever use cat5 Ethernet punch downs as a way to remote wire the faceplate / microphone?

Example - run network cable from the radio to the car dashboard, then terminate with cat5 port. Knock out a "dummy" plug from the dashboard and have that there.

Why? So my radio can be hidden up under the dash, but the control panel can be unplugged quickly leaving two ports visible in the car dashboard. (mic and control)

Denver is wonderful, but the constant snow really puts a damper on all the great outdoor activities here. :(
