This is one one the many reasons why I respect Google. Being upfront and sharing the benefits of Moore's law with their customers pre-emptively.

An Aus take on the Tesla Powerwall and what it means for the power distributors (spoiler: not good unless they change their behaviour).

Putting my Android wireless swim timing system Wylas Timing out in front of the coaches and swimming officials at the ASCTA convention at the Gold Coast.

Getting hands on customer feedback is gold.

Oh yeah! Bring it on. This is a much better interface than cobbling together several monitor and slapping away at a keyboard.

A long road to be sure, but a highly valuable one.
DARPA intends to do build cognitive implants that are active at the level of the mind, and that can not only replay what we see or think, but create what we see, think, and perhaps most importantly, remember.

Hmm interesting move .. Google has opened up its doors and is offering to purchase your patents. Not sure if its a 10X move, but it's certainly novel.

That really tall Aussie that won't shut up about science and tech
Introduction
I love big ideas and I love the challenge of tackling them and meeting other similarly minded people.

I have always tended to treat everything as a puzzle and am thankful that since the universe is infinite I'm never going to run out of them.

I'm also really thankful for living in such exciting times. We see more change today that at any other point in history. And the rate of change is accelerating. Big things are possible with only small amounts of leverage.

Great hotel. Make sure you book for dinner at Bazaar, it's $70/head but you won't regret it. Just go with an empty belly.

Always a pleasure. Right next to GOMA, the state library and the Science Centre too, so you can take in several sights in one day if you have the stamina.

An awesome temple. Massive and grand. Some parts were being restored while we were there. Absolutely loved the dragon fountain.

A most serene and spacious place. It was a great base of operations for seeing Kyoto and was extremely restful at the end of a day of sight seeing.
