Simple; nice service, and it comes to you...

A food truck may seem like an unlikely testing ground for healthy menu items, the four-wheel equivalent of a fast-food joint. But most are mom-and-pop operations where cooks make food by hand, using fresh ingredients, and often for underserved communities. One of our researchers called them a "good lab."
Researchers teamed up with a dozen Los Angeles lunch trucks to test healthier menu items—chicken breasts and grilled fish alongside the usual tacos and hamburgers.

ODESERT STORM RALLY 2015; THE U.S. ARMY, CHINESE AND LEBANON ENGAGE IN HARMONIOUS COMPETITION WHERE EVERYONE WAS THE "WINNER"

A grassroots family organization held a Rallysport Event last week on the U.S. Army (Yuma) Proving Grounds located south of Blythe, California. While the number of entries were low, some nations were represented.

CHINA INVADES "U.S."?

Not only did they invade, the First Overall rally car and Yufong Hao of China; in his debut as navigator for American driver, Tingun Song, covered several Stages in their No. 95 ahead of two other Americans from Idaho, Jeff Radios and Warren Kouda who drove a highly modified Ford Ranger winning the coveted Power Stage.

Down the line came an American couple; the driver Joe Black, performed a yeoman's job to capture Fourth with the No. 34 - another Ford Ranger - and don't let looks deceive you. The "34" may not be "pretty", but it was "beautiful" to watch as it stormed by!

MIDDLE EAST CONFLICTS?

Now this event, as I reported, had several nations represented. I have identified China so far, but drivers from Finland, Lebanon and the United Kingdom also entered and yet the highest placing driver from outside the U.S. was the least experienced on dirt roads and sand washes! But he had a not so secret weapon...

Remarkable as it sounds, the Third Place pro driver from Lebanon - Zaid Karanouh has earned his winning performances on Tarmac; paved rally courses and we chuckled upon learning his 3rd Overall was also his first attempt on the very geographical makeup predominately covered in his home country!

But we found out the secret!

Ask someone who has considerable experience to show him the ropes; logical no doubt. Well, he asked American navigator Karen Zankowski to teach him!

In a geopolitical world where discussions can lead to conflict and conflict is the essential ingredient to wars, the clash of cultures and societal differences were wiped out when Zaid proudly unfolded his nation's flag during the Awards Ceremony as Karen smiled and the crowd roared with thunderous applause!

As this dynamic duo returned to. their seats, I could not restrain myself by smiling for them, but capturing her attention to this fact:

"Hey! Psst! Karen... We all KNOW who was in command of your car!" She walked by in front of me and gave that "knowing wink" and a smile that said: "I know but let's let Zaid think he did it."

I understood that signal... It's global!

THE SANDBOX OF LIFE; EVERYONE IS INVITED TO PLAY!

In the rough and tumble world of rally racing, we find harmony in our little "sandbox" in Kindergarden, to the dusty soccer fields, all across the world. Where and what to do when we get drawn in or misled?

How about a competitive event where chances are a few bruised egos my result, but let such injury occur while having fun and excitement!

World leaders of nations pursue their interests and will use every tool or resource to gain the upper hand. In sports, it's a different story; is it not?

THE "FRIENDLIES" v. THE "BOOGYMAN"

The Commander of the Army Base knew this; while we marked the race course on Thursday last week, we got a call that was actually a friendly request. I know our military follows protocol and the strict chain of command and the brass continued testing the latest technologies in UAV (drones). His request was simple:

"May we use you guys marking the course to test our guidance systems? We will put you in the "dark", so you will not be able to communicate at all (commercial two way radios, cell phones or even HAM Radio) for a few hours or until you are done for they day?"

With quick wit and humor, our coordinator replied:

"Did you say 'guidance systems' only, or are you going to test 'weapons' also?"

Ironically, the make, brand and color of my partner's vehicle is an almost the exact form of transportation the terrorist organization ISIS/ISL/Dasche uses - their Toyotos just don't have TURN Air Photo splashed across the bodywork!

"Fine with us, John! No 'Hellfire Missles', correct?" He could understand where I was going with this and smiled back:

"Well, that's what he said, Bill..."

"PRAISE ALLAH! Let's roll, Alan!"

As we pounded rebar stakes at every road crossing, which included the gateways to Top Secret installations, I couldn't help myself... I wondered: "Maybe guidance systems have developed the capability to monitor sound?"

Enter that ugly dude, the "Boogyman"...

Friends who have heard my Arabic and tell me to "Shhh! You are gonna get is in trouble!" They also know I like to push the envelope, while being of service so....

LANGUAGE MIX UNITED

English spoken as necessary to fellow workers; Spanish "just because..." and a LOUD pseudo Arabic for fun "just in case..." we darted around and performed our tasks at hand and knew the event on Saturday would be a success! And for those who have never heard our military drones?

They sound worse than anything - perhaps more hideous than my scary sounding Arabic - for while hard to see, they have this obnoxious "lawn mower steady grind" to them and that would drive one nuts after an hour!

"A STATE OF CONFUCIUS"

"To learn without thinking by not asking begets ignorance;
To think without learning is dangerous." Lun Yu

At the Awards Ceremony, I met one of the Chinese contingent members who was quite proficient in English. He had a deservedly honest question, for in the Republic of China, rally racing would never be permitted on land that is controlled by the People's Army:

He was just as fascinated as I as to how Rally Chair Denise McMahon was able to gain access and express permission from the Department of Defense (Army) to run a sporting event for an otherwise; almost unprecedented or "strictly forbidden" proving ground?

"I do not know precisely how she was granted permission; what I do know is that there must be honesty, trust and no broken promises."

He seemed grateful; but just to make sure, I asked her the very same question?

It has been only four days since our friend from China asked OUR question:

"Definitely, Bill! Any solid relationship, whether by contract or by simple friendship, those elements are absolute needs."

"I figured that... Our organization used to run a desert motorcycle race over an outer section of the Twentynine Palms Marine Base on our way from Lucerne Valley (California) to Parker (Arizona) and we presented everything to the General so he could order a sweep for ordinance."

"TAKING A CLOSE LOOK IN TO THE CRYSTAL BALL..."

It is very clear; one not need any magic to gain trust. It's earned.

Suppose you are handed a five gallon aquarium and instead of "WATER", there's another five letter word called "TRUST" and it is filled to the top... Along our ways in life, people or institutions will hand us trust with HOPE we do not spill it, but if it happens, we quickly fill it back up with a full explanation; no blame nor excuse, but by deeds.

We might all learn something in this story that has applications across all boundaries and borders. Allow me to present some facts upon which everyone on this planet will agree:

Do you go to sleep with only the fleeting HOPE you'll awaken?

Of course not...

When we good to sleep, we all have FAITH we will awaken. To dispute this fundamental fact of life would be a lie.

I wish to thank Denise McMahon for trusting that Alan Scott would bring my body to her event and use me to provide expertise in safety and race related emergency communications to the table.

I thank the Creator who gave every single human being the same sets of characteristics - two eyes; two ears; one nose; one mouth, a brain and one heart and to use these in harmony with billions of others.

I HOPE some can come out to one of our events, for I have FAITH those who do will be invigorated in the reminder how much more we share in common rather than what we keep fighting against.

WHO and WHAT ARE WE FIGHTING ABOUT?

Well.. Ourselves! Let's examine some facts...

If Zaid can set aside his manly ego or pride and have a female (sister) help him; when the Base Commander wrote in his formal letter approving the event is humble enough to express his sincere belief the rally would be a success, my faith was strengthened even more when a young man named Ryan Millen (the son of Rally Champion Rod Millen) suffered race ending mechanical issues, but he did not quit.

Ryan at the tender age of 26 demonstrated a certain degree of humility by fixing his Factory sponsored Toyota and switch hats. and suddenly become the safety "Sweep Car" to serve his fellow competitors until the race was over.

Herbert Spenser said it best:

"There is a principle which is a bar against all information, which is proof against all arguments and which cannot fail to keep a man in everlasting ignorance - that principle is 'contempt prior to investigation'."

I have children; many of you do also, or one day wanting to raise children - and this message motivated me!

I also know about these changes but ask each one of you to hold fast to this Truth:

"Two eyes; two ears; one mouth, one nose, a brain and one heart." Billions across the planet have these features - I cannot imagine anything other than One All Powerful Creator. So when in disputes, Inwould ask some to try this:

For 24 hours, look at your fellow human beings as "similar" in design and structure - it is from such an eye-to-eye understanding and if you have ever asked for, and been "forgiven", I hope and pray we see "evil" as separate from greed, stealing or manipulation as a consequence of FEAR.

I turn 56 years "young" soon; it warms my heart knowing future generations will never have "to guess" what was taking place... You are far ahead and into the solution!

As a seasoned investigator in Civil and Criminal matters there were two methods - as honest attempts to get to the truth - formed in two questions:

CRIMINAL CHARGES PENDING OR FILED (DEFENDANT/CLIENT):

1. "Thank you for providing us with information leading to your arrest; would you be willing to undergo a Polygraph Examination?"

2. "Your time is appreciated; this could be a challenging case to defend and that means additional fees and costs. In the best case scenario, what is your desire: To plea bargain or take your case straight to a Jury?"

The response(s) to either or both questions spoke VOLUMES!

Any hesitation whatsoever to undergo a Polygraph Examination tells us: "This person has something to hide." The best response came from a middle aged woman who child had been kidnapped; she saw her ex-husband (the father) place their child in his car and drive off... She was furious when Sheriffs Deputies detained her for questioning, then tried to scare her in "being complicit" and sent it to the D.A. - to the polygraph she burst out in tears!

"I thought that it was not allowed! May I come down and take the test now?"

As to the second question; I asked it this way:

"If we invite the D.A. to participate during the examination, and even when you pass they proceed as it not being admissible, then we should..."

"I demand a trial then!"

THESE METHODS ARE NON INVASIVE - BUT ON THOSE RARE OCCASIONS WE GET A "YES" and "NO PLEA DEALS" WE CALL THE D.A. AND CHALLENGE THEM TO ASK REVIEW THEIR CASE AGAIN AND POSE OUR QUESTIONS TO THE INVESTIGATIVE AUTHORITY!

In those cases, charges are never filed or suddenly dropped!

I would challenge that little actress and her gun totin' hubby holding that gun to his head; little "Jesse's" mother, and the local pedophile psych doctor who inherited those 4 - 6 children from Mrs. Soto's Class; would they please be true heros and take polygraph tests?

Riders were able to rip up the race course due to the sophisticated water retention program at Glen Helen Raceway this weekend.

Deeper cuts in the race track were carved which requires three times the amount of work the day before just to hold the moisture and keep down the dust.

HOPE v. FAITH

Thank you Members of the Committee - every single one of you - for allowing anyone and everyone to provide comment(s). It is a fact we all go to sleep with FAITH we will wake up; imagine laying down with only HOPE we will awaken to enjoy another day!

I only have HOPE and couple of itty-bitty things will lead me back to FAITH in each and every one of you - here's just two:

NUMBER ONE:

BIPARTISAN LETTER TO THE DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE (Gowdy)
BIPARTISAN COOPERATION IN THE COMPLAINT (Connelly)

NUMBER TWO:

CONSEQUENCES AND OBSERVATIONS
• Lerner

• Microsoft - yes.... Microsoft and I mean in the context of the ghastly waste of time and money wasted is borderline equivant to that which the Department of Homeland Security begs us: "If you see something; say something!"

Not ONE SINGLE WHISTLEBLOWER, eh?

Not one brave American in the I.R.S. had taxpayer interests in mind to blow the whistle when she took the 5th and he lied to protect her?

You know what would really save billions of dollars RIGHT NOW? Just ASK simple question: "Would you be willing to submit to a Polygraph Examination?". [Yeah-yeah... "Not admissible..."]. But what's wrong with merely ASKING? For it is the specific response that would speak volumes! Forget the test... Just....

ASK THEM?

With a few thousand extra dollars, I would invest an onsite "Rapid Repair Unit" (RRU) for race promoters. As time and wear and tear weaken most facilities, the need for repairs at Glen Helen are surprisingly few and desperate repairs are made; that's how and why the facility stays in business. These "predictable issues" will come up, however, during the middle of an event, if a main water line ruptures; when a tractor breaks down, or if high winds take out electrical, it seems as if a process begins that requires race officials to break away from their duties and focus on what an RRU can and should perform. That's all.... Kids have plenty of space to do what kids like tondo; I never have seen vandalism, fighting or any "troublemakers" - except on the race track in the heat of competition - and Gate Fees are reasonable; Staff members are friendly.
