New lens day! Made a little blog post about it.
I received my 18.5mm prime lens in the post today, so I thought I'd do a comparison between that and the standard 10-30mm lens kit. The two images below are taken in the same spot with the exact sa...

It came with it! I think the eBay seller threw it in as an extra.

Lightroom 6! The upgrades sound pretty good. my 30 day trial of Lightroom 5 is about to run out. Will any of you guys be upgrading?
Lightroom 6 and CC: worth the upgrade? We take a closer look at some of the new features on offer in this latest version

+Ricky Scheerer No, I didn't try the Capture NX-D, Ricky.
I always get the updates automatically for View-NX and Capture NX2 at my Windows-Pc. Never had any issues with both. I like the several tools of Capture NX 2 and edit my images following a special workflow.
Now I use Chromebooks and this Nikon software is not compatible with ChromeOS. Instead I started up with the Web-app "Polarr", which delivers good results..
Photoshop will be later released to ChromeOS in a special version by a "Web-App", which is already available as a test-version, but only in the States.

So I've got a Nikon 1 J2 that I love. It's got the standard 10-30mm kit lens. Photography is just a hobby for me but I'm looking at new lenses and accessories and anything else that I can spend all my money on. I was wondering if there is any real advantage to going for a 1 V series. Or would it be better to concentrate on getting some filters and maybe a nice prime lens? Thanks for any help 1 users!

Thanks +Monochrome in Zambia. The 18.5 arrived the other day and it's brilliant. Only taken it as far as the pub so far though =p

Shot on my Nikon 1 J2 last weekend. Making the most of the 7 days I have left of my Lightroom trial.

The 18.5 lens is fantastic, hands down.

Interesting piece about making money with photography. Basically, he doesn't make much profit but he gets to constantly travel around the world and loves what he does.

Long gone are the days in which being a travel photographer simply meant you shot photography for a certain travel magazine or newspaper. The world isn't t

A big soppy dog! I loved the bright light from the window landing on his face.

There are some times when a "proper" camera won't do and you need a phone camera.

I share quite a lot of his stuff which annoys some people, so here's another video for you (starting from the point I think it gets interesting). "The economy is a poem made out of numbers". It's not real; it's just a construct made by humans.

Really knows his stuff and an absolute pleasure to talk to. I'm always blown away by the quality of his set ups.

I don't know what the other person is talking about with bootleg CD's...maybe they can give us an example? The Rockbox has been the go-to place for music lovers for years. The staff know their stuff and are passionate about the music, the selection of CD's and vinyl there is huge and if they don't have what you want, they're happy to order it in for you. The Rockbox has managed to outlast all other music stores in town which is brilliant for an independent record store. Visit the Rockbox if you want to experience a proper record store.

Had a lovely meal for a friend's birthday. The portions were very good and half of us didn't manage to finish our main meals because we'd had starters first! Only one steak was cooked wrong but they were happy to cook a new one for us. I would definitely go back there again.

Great food and great service. Nicest Chinese I've had in the local area. Only took 15 minuted to cook and the man even brought it out to my car for me. £24 for set meal B for 2. Plenty left over for a 2nd meal for each of us so good value for money!

Lovely and quiet in the afternoon with very friendly staff. Lunch in the front room was so relaxing as the sun streamed through the window. The food came out promptly and didn't disappoint. The burger was so large I couldn't finish it so they happily got me some tin foil to take the rest away.

I went away here for my 2 year anniversary with my girlfriend and had a lovely time. Paid for a small room but even that was large and with uneven flooring and nice decor, it was full of character. All the staff I met were very friendly and able to answer any questions I had. Breakfast was included in the price and could not be faulted. Cooked to order, high quality food made with care, home made jam, a choice between salted and unsalted butter, the list goes on. Would definitely visit here again if I'm in Bath.

Been going here for years. Good deals on food although it has got a bit more expensive in the past few months. Drinks are still very well priced with a huge selection. Avoid Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights if you're over 20. Full of 18 year olds. Needs a lick of paint. No garden. Apart from that, nice atmosphere with no music to try and talk over the top of.
