New beta has been uploaded. Graphing and matrix math added.

Known bugs:
-Matrix math is iffy (Multiplication is broken)
-When typing a lot, the text gets cut off because it doesn't scroll properly
-Pressing left/right of display doesn't move cursor there
-Floating calculator input is funky

Graphing will probably change. I want it to graph automatically when you start typing a function. The display will grow smaller and reveal a graph underneath. Tap on the mini graph to expand it to full screen.

CyanogenMod and Nick both disagree with me, though. :(

Hi guys. Sorry, I've been missing in action for a while... If you don't know me, I'm Will, the developer of SAO Launcher.

SAO is currently in maintenance mode. I'll fix bugs that people bring up, but new features are just written down so I can work on them on a rainy day. I'm very sorry, but this means MMS is on hold, as well as deleting SMS, etc.

There are a couple of reasons, some more selfish than others.

The main reason is Calculator, another app I wrote, needs a major re-design to match Android Lollipop. Luckily, CyanogenMod Inc said they'd loan me a developer or two, and it's just the UI so it shouldn't take too long. But it is taking up my entire focus for now.

Also, if you hadn't heard, I moved to NYC last month. The hours at the new job are a longer (this week especially), but at least I'm finally done unpacking and building my new IKEA furniture.

Lastly, SAO is the only app that makes money (and I love you guys for that!), but I'm worried that once the show ends, it's going to dry up fast. Calculator will be getting a few new features that will be paid. And I've been writing 2 other apps (games) that are ~80% done, but I have no idea if they'll be successful -- so they've both been put on hold too. This is the most selfish reason.

On the bright side, so that I'm not all bad news... I've spent the last few days fixing bugs. There's only a couple left that I know of. And +Giovanni Ruggirello has offered to help with the MMS support. Although he's new to Android development, the help is much appreciated.

5.0's coming soon (Like, tomorrow) and Calculator finally has a redesign. This hasn't happened since 4.0 - 3 years ago! We've been thinking about how to merge our code and Google's, and below are some screenshots of what we've mocked up. We're looking for community feedback before we get too invested. :]

Some other features we're considering:
-Integrals
Integrate from a to b over any function
-Saving Functions
Save a function, f1(x), and use it later. For example, if f1(x)=5X, then f1(0) + f1(1) + f1(2) = 15.
-Calculate probabilities
Mean, standard deviation, mode, n choose m.
-Voice support
Speak your question aloud and have the app reply with an answer

And features we're deprecating:
-Themes
With the new UI, we don't think it's as important to customize the app. At the very least, it's not a priority.
-Equations that aren't functions
You can no longer do y^2+x^2=16 to graph circles. That's always been a big problem with the app. You'll be restricted to functions of the form f(x)=_______.

So!
What are your opinions on the new design?
What do you like about Calculator? What don't you like?
What features do other calculators have that you wish Calculator had (Or that you wish calculators had in general)
Would you be willing to pay for new features? With in-app-purchase, or through a plugin system?

A beta's been posted. To join the beta, you must click on the link below; then you'll be able to upgrade from the play store.

Don't expect a lot of features yet. For the most part, this is just the Lollipop release with a few additions.

Would be nice if the history text was smaller and could wrap.

Heads up on Music Controls in Android Lollipop. It's a no-go. Google decided to restrict access to the api. You'll have to keep using the hacky version currently on the store. :(

Dark version - We're staying away from themes, at least for now. CM's theme engine still works so dark themes will pop up on their own eventually.

It'll ship on the Play Store and on CM (or any ROM that wants to include it). But the Play Store version will have a few extra paid features.

This is just for the Play Store version. The basic version of the app will remain free / open source and will be bundled with CM.
