"Ted" from my "50 Faces" series.
"Ted" is one in my series titled "50 Faces". This series is made up of portraits I painted stream-of-consciousness without any reference material. With each portrait I used thick impasto techniques...

"Wise Cracker" is one from my series called "Code Crackers". This series deals specifically with the environmental issues of obtaining energy resources and the burden this puts on our fellow animals. Humans attempt to "crack the code" and solve the mystery of our finite resources through industrialized means that put our animal brethren and ourselves in jeopardy.

"Wise Cracker" features a realistically depicted great horned owl bust that drips into the stark white background. Four teal pyramids and one green wedge shape float at bottom which symbolized an industrialized world. A spray of lime green at the top of the piece represents the chaotic struggle of wildlife survival in the modern world. Signed, framed and ready to hang.

Decided to stop here on the way out from our weekend stay at Tybee Island. We placed our to-go order within minutes of arriving a little after 12:00 p.m. There were what seemed to be about 8-10 people working and about two 4-tops in the whole place and the yogurt/coffee side was deserted. The person who took our order was friendly. However, 3 dine-in parties arrived about 10 minutes after us and one of those parties received their drinks and appetizer order before we received our food. We ordered 2 wraps with pasta salad. On the yogurt side, the young man didn't know where the creamer was and asked repeatedly what kind of coffee my girlfriend wanted while he was trying to get the coffee machine to work. I was just about to tell them to cancel the order when I walked up to the counter and the counter person/waitress asked me if I was ready to pick up my order as if we had stepped out. We had clearly been sitting not 4 feet from the register the whole time. I asked her if the food had been ready this whole time and she politely said "No, I think it just came out" That was at 12:40 p.m. I'm a pretty patient person, but I don't think it takes 40 minutes to pull out 2 pre-made wrap sandwiches, ice cream scoop some prepped pasta salad into a couple of styrofoam containers. At least a quick check-in, "i'm sorry it's taking so long" would have been nice. We will definitely steer clear of this place when we visit again.

Absolutely the most genuine shop I've ever been to. Travis personally helped me with my main fuel line for my 1953 Buick and let me watch while giving some info so I understood what was going on. I will definitely continue to take my auto repair needs to this wonderful shop!

Our server was great. The music was good. However, the food was just not that good. Everything was way overcooked. Oysters were simply too small to be fried. Jambalaya tasted like it had been sitting on the back porch for days. There was an unfortunate experience with the manager when my father tried to order just a skewer of shrimp in favor of the over fried oysters he had originally ordered. I think it was a communication breakdown, where the manager thought we were trying to get a free meal, however, my dad was just trying to get something he could eat, never mentioned trying to get it for free nor wanted extra jambalaya or fries. My dad was eventually served the skewer of shrimp and the manager did come out as we were about to leave and sincerely apologized, but I don't think we'll be going back there with the plethora of other great places to eat in NOLA.

Walked into the store today. The clerk behind the desk saw me come in and didn't say a word. No big deal. I flipped through the tile samples for about 10 - 15 minutes. No one ever came to wait on me. Store also looked be in disarray. No prices were listed either which is fine, but no one came to ask me about my project or anything so I walked out. On to the next tile store...

Everything about this place was great. We were seated promptly. Our server was outstanding. The atmosphere was great. I had the Prima Rosa, my dad ordered the Chicken Marsala and my brother and mother both had the house made Ravioli. All were amazingly delectable. We ended up ordering all 4 deserts they were serving that night which were all excellent as well. A simply awesome restaurant!

This place is awesome. Very clean and nice 50's style atmosphere. Wait staff and cooks were all very nice. Pig sandwich w/slaw, chips and drink all for about 7 bucks!I ordered a take out pig sandwich with slaw and N.C. sauce (spicy vinegar). Portions are spectacular without seeming glutenous. The sandwich was amazing even without the sauce. Just simply delicious with great texture, flavor and just enough juices. I can't wait to go back and have a beer while trying their other offers. That pulled hen sandwich and the baked macaroni and cheese sounds quite tasty...
