My last trip to Cuba took me to in May of this year took me to Villa Tropico, located in Playa Jibacoa, a small fishing village in the Mayabeque Province of Cuba. The Villas Trópico resort is located on the lovely Arroyo Bermejo Beach, about 75 km from Havana and 70 km from the Varadero airport.

I sort of felt like a French billionaire as I was driven toward Belmond La Samanna on serpentine roads through lush vegetation and fragrant blossoms. Once driven through the iron-black gates into the world of La Samanna, I knew I was in heaven on earth. I arrive at the open-air lobby of the resort and I’m immediately treated to breathtaking water views of Baie Longue and the Caribbean.

Contrary to popular belief that spas are flowery, effeminate hubs, more guys are getting pampered to look and feel their best. I absolutely love getting pampered which is why last year I’ve visited three of Toronto’s finest urban retreats. My most recent visit was to Spa My Blend by Clarins at the Ritz-Carlton Toronto; situated in the heart of Toronto’s entertainment neighbourhood amongst some of Toronto’s best restaurants and bars, vibrant cafés and most exciting theatre and nightlife.

Need a some TLC in Toronto? Well you've come to the right place. Out of the many spectacular things Toronto has to offer its residents and visitors is its luxurious spas located in the heart of the city.

Most of Toronto’s top relaxation destinations are situated in high-end hotels around the downtown core – appropriate, given the deluxe surroundings and often-elaborate treatments on the menu, and each one of them offers a unique escape from the day-to-day routine.

At the top of the list of the best spas in Toronto is The Spa Four Seasons Toronto where I treated myself to a luxury massage treatment this past October. If you’re looking to experience relaxation at its best, I highly recommend this urban oasis.

Review: Le Colimaçon, Paris.

The absolute worst thing to do when you visit Paris is plan too much. Eiffel tower, Notre Dame, Larc de triomphe — stand in line for hours to experience what everybody says you have to. But you’d be committing a cardinal sin to visit Paris and not leave enough time to try authentic French cuisine.
