Sussex Wildlife Trust is delighted at West Sussex County Council Planning Committee’s unanimous decision yesterday to reject the application by Celtique Energie for exploratory drilling near Wisborough Green. The proposed drilling site is adjacent to our Northup Copse ancient woodland Nature Reserve. However we have grave concerns that it was traffic issue that got the application turned down, with little or no value placed on the rare bat population.

Our special place this week is Berks, Bucks and Oxon Wildlife Trust's College Lake - a former quarry site now home to more than 1,000 species including the kingfisher, red kite, redshank, bee orchid and hare.
