The Lifehacker Pack for Linux is going up on Friday, but I'm not sure if there's anything from last year I would change! This is one of my least favorite Linux downsides...development tends to be much slower on a lot of these open source apps :-/

What do you guys think? Any changes you think we should look at this year?
With so many flavors of Linux and the awesome apps in their repositories, finding the right app for getting things done can be tough. In our fifth annual Lifehacker Pack for Linux, we're highlighting the must-have downloads for better productivity, communication, media management, and more.

This is actually the greatest thing on the internet right now. IKEA or death metal?
The names of the furniture in IKEA sound a lot like the names of black metal bands. Consider this quiz an educational way to learn the difference between the two.

The more I feel underwhelmed by games like The Witcher, the more I re-consider going back to Skyrim for awhile.

Oh that's a bummer, hopefully they do bring to the PC then. It really is a great game.

Follow-up to my last question for PC builders: Where, besides Newegg and Amazon, do you buy parts? I occasionally buy at NCIX (for the price matching) and Micro Center (for the cheap CPUs) but wondering what other stores are out there.

PCpartspicker is cool and all, but I don't want to be waiting for like 80 shipments at my apartment.  I always end up just saying fuck it and buy from newegg so I can get one giant box with everything in it at a good price.  I think it's still the best.  Tiger Direct doesn't have the good deals they used to up until a few years ago.

Has anyone gotten OS X running in VirtualBox using a non-hacked Mountain Lion installer? Doing some research for an article.

Alright, peeps: Nexus 5 or Moto X? Convince me.

Nexus 5 pros: I like the hardware better, easier to root, better screen. Might be a little big for my small pockets.

Moto X pros: Better battery life (this is a big one), active notifications are really cool.

Aaarrrgh so hard!

Playing Ocarina of Time for the first time since childhood. This plot makes no sense.

"I had this dream and there were dark clouds...I think it means that THAT GUY IS EVIL AND WANTS TO TAKE OVER THE WORLD"

Okay princess, that's quite a leap in logic. Let's step back and give this guy some due process. You are a small child who had a bad dream and that is a pretty serious accusation.

Remember how much everyone freaked out when Google Reader shut down, even though it wasn't that special and like 50 services instantly replaced it that were just as good or better?

PC builders: How is Newegg's customer service/return policy? Is it better than Amazon's? I haven't had to return anything to Newegg before.

The return policy is fine, but they charge restocking fees and don't pay for return shipping, lame. Their customer service is horrific, however.
Amazon is Amazon; 30 days and no worries and no fees (at least with Prime).
