Isn't that how the saying goes if it rains on your wedding day? "A wet knot is the best knot because they're harder to untie."

Well, Morgan and Kevin probably don't need that reassurance. After all, these two had already been together 10 years on their wedding day, so I'd say they were pretty solid ;) The rain did, however, reveal how truly amazing this bride and groom are, as well as their families and all their guests. Everyone was a trooper. They hoisted up their umbrella or donned a poncho -- all with a smile on their faces. No one was missing these two tie the knot.

Read my blog post and see more of their gorgeous wedding day story here: http://bit.ly/298EmIs.

Best day ever for this sweet couple! Tied the knot at Fort Allen Park and celebrated at The Portland Company for a local Maine wedding. I swear, they did not stop smiling all day. Permagrins.

An amazing (and expensive!) light installation at a recent corporate headquarters shoot in Boston for Osram Sylvania's brand LEDVANCE. Even coordinated to music. So cool! Beauty, technology, creativity, light, color, sound, music all rolled into one!

Just look at how excited this mom is to help her daughter into her wedding dress. Adorable!

I'm always anticipating this moment when documenting a wedding. I love seeing how emotion manifests itself differently for each person. The mother-of-the-bride, the bridesmaids, the bride herself -- someone (or all!) will have that pensive look on her face that reads "it's happening." Lots of emotion going on inside, usually reveals itself on the outside with some happy tears and smiles from ear to ear. Or a slightly serious tone when buttoning up the back of the dress -- only when that last button is closed can some moms breathe a sigh of relief. The dress is on. It's that moment when mom realizes "she is all grown up."

Welcome to the first installment of Merchants + Makers. From time to time, I'll be featuring the talented vendors, creatives, merchants, makers, movers and shakers in Maine's wedding community on my blog. There are SO MANY brilliant Maine businesses contributing to the local economy and devoted to making a couple's wedding the best day ever. I have been shooting weddings since 2008 and STILL meet new industry colleagues producing amazing work or managing wonderful spaces -- there are hundreds upon hundreds of us, so I know I won't run out of content to feature!

First up, The Homestead at Rest and Be Thankful Farm in Lyman, Maine. Check out some photos from a recent visit!! http://bit.ly/1rZvIQl

What's a wedding without dance floor splits and bridesmaids jump roping with shirt ties? Maybe every wedding needs to have this now, because it sure was fun to photograph. Oh, and the bride and groom are accomplished hikers. Clearly this bunch is up my alley! What a fabulous way to kick off my 2016 wedding season....

.... You remind me to relax, laugh, have fun, live in the moment, and to never forget my inner child. I know you are proud to never lose your Long Island, New York accent and have taught me that "coffee" is best pronounced as "coouwwwffee".... Read more on the blog at http://bit.ly/1Tx5zOB
