"I'll have a soup".

You are watching what you eat. You try to order healthy when eating out. But is restaurant soup really a healthy choice? Home made soups never taste the same as restaurant soups and there is a reason for that.
Restaurant soups are loaded with salt, oil, butter, cream, hidden sugars and probably thickening agents. If you order clear soups, they are high in salt, preservatives and oil.

Here is a check list to see if your choice is healthy.
1. Do you feel very thirsty after the meal? This means the meal was high in salt and oil.
2. Do you feel very full and the meal sits in your stomach?
3. Do you feel bloated and the weighing scale moves up the next day?

Several people order soup thinking they are making a healthy choice but the same soup prepared at home will taste a bit bland in comparison. If you are eating out regularly, avoid soups. Order things that can be prepared according to your needs like a salad, sandwich or a wrap that you can customise. You can easily choose the ingredients and opt for a dressing that is light.

Cauliflower is a non starchy vegetable with many health benefits.
It is a rich source of dietary fibre which helps in reducing cholesterol levels. Cauliflower is recommended in a diabetic diet due to its low glycemic index. Rich in vitamin C and antioxidants, it works as anti-aging for the skin.
If fat loss is your goal, eat this vegetable frequently. One cup of Cauliflower contains only 30 calories.

Gobi Matar Recipe (cauliflower with peas):
1 medium cauliflower washed and cut into florets
1 cup green peas
Ginger julienne
1 green chilli chopped
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tbsp coriander powder
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp sea salt

In a pan heat 1 tbsp of avocado oil. Crackle the cumin seeds. Add ginger and green chilies. Add the cauliflower florets and coat them with coriander powder and black pepper. Once the cauliflower is half cooked add the green peas and cover the pan.
Cook for another 10 minutes. Stir once or twice to mix the spices evenly. Add salt to taste.

Serve with roti or you can also make a Gobi wrap and take it as packed lunch.

“No, thank you.”
“I’m good."
“I’ll pass."

These are the words you will be using very often when you have a clear target of losing excess fat. These very words will become an annoyance to your friends, probably even your family.

You will be told you have become a bore, depriving yourself and not enjoying life. Will it bother you? Of course it will! At times you will feel like an out cast and maybe even give in to the pressure and buckle.

This is the perfect time when you need to be selfish. Make it all about you. It is your body and your goal. You will be the best judge of how you are feeling and looking and why you need to change. If you are not happy with your body only you can do something about it. No one else can eat or train for you.

Personally, “maybe later” always works for me for the food or drink I don’t want to have.
